Terrelle Pryor just ran a 4.38 at his workout

ESPN is reporting that Pryor ran a 4.36: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6...aluate-terrelle-pryor-says-appeal-suspensions

As I said in one of the other threads, guys like Pryor don't grow on trees. Trying finding a 6'5" 240lb athlete than runs a 4.36 with a 31" vertical and led his HS team to State Championships in Football and Basketball (both during his Senior year). The kid is a SPECIAL athlete. Surely the Dolphins could use one of those, right? Seriously, they've effed up so many 3rd and 4th round picks as it is, why is taking a gamble on such an athletic freak such a big deal??

Worst case, he's a bust like many others before him.
Best case, he develops into an above average QB or a freakish WR / TE.

Yeah but some people on here think he'll be a Ted Ginn bust or a total flop. I hope Pryor goes to the NFL and excels. It'll make our Dolphins look pretty stupid if we don't pick him then.

Most of the people who think Pryor sucks have probably never watched him play. You can see the freakish athletic ability the guy has. Some team will spend a draft pick on him. He's worth the gamble as long as it's not a high pick.

Ejay is 100% right in his last post in this thread. Im a Buckeye fan/parent, and admit to the homer factor, but I would love to have this kind of athlete on my team. I will admit that I dont think Miami has a front office or coaching staff with the confidence and creativity to realize Pryors potential ( see the Daniel Thomas draft pick, ugh)

Since 1971

Pryor definitely has a role in the NFL. I'd be surprised if those of you hammering him have watched him play.

Yeah but some people on here think he'll be a Ted Ginn bust or a total flop.

Difference would be, Pryor wouldn't be a 1st round pick, let alone #9 overall. Secondly, unlike Ginn Jr, Pryor has size to go along with his speed. BIG difference.

While Teddy was fast and a pretty good athlete, he's not the all-around athlete Pryor is. Pryor is quicker, stronger and nearly as fast in a straight line. Pryor is / was an elite basketball talent coming out of HS. Other than football, Ginn was solely a track guy. Different type of athletes.

I don't think he's an NFL QB, and he'll need to realize that at some point. Also, we have NO idea if he can actually catch the ball or be an efficient route runner. People compare him to Matt Jones, but Jones was willing to play as a receiver in the Senior Bowl, and showed enough ability to convince people he could play WR in the NFL.

Also, I can't stand Pryor. Even with all that said, he's worth a fourth rounder in my eyes, and I'll bet some team bids a third for him. He's just too good of an athlete.

**** it if you ask me sign the kid and make him return punts and kicks and run the **** out of the wildcat with Reggie Bush. Scary speed, scary speed a mismatch nightmare, a kid who can run 4.38 and throws better then a running back.

I'd be salivating to get this kid as a cross over weapon if I could find the space on the roster.

You answered your own question. The best teams take chances, because, well, as you said, they're the best. They can afford to do so. Mediocre teams taking chances on mediocre (at best) prospects, keeps them mediocre. And LOL at anyone saying Terrelle Pryor and TE in the same sentence, as if blocking isn't a huge part of playing the position, especially for this team.
To be fair, Dustin Keller and Greg Olsen are fairly useless as blockers. They are receiving threats. That's what Pryor would represent to us.

no matter he won't make it to us anyway...someone with a worst record will draft him ala raiders.

Believe it or not, the Raiders finished with a better record (8-8) that we did (7-9) last year. It wouldn't matter anyway though, it's not like someone is going to put in a 1st round bid on him. Scratch that...we're talking about the Raiders.

what we can do is bring him in...play him as something else week 5 if henne sucks start him ths year..and then we have our franchise qb next year, no need to draft a qb.

WTF? So your saying to bring him in, where he'll have all of about a week and a half to learn said "something else" position before his suspension begins (and that's if he signs a contract the very minute he's drafted)? Mind you during the week and a half he's learning this "something else" position the coaching staff is busy getting the other 52 members of the team ready for the season. Then he sits out the next 5 weeks, and when his suspension is over he'll be ready to play? All the while if Henne ends up struggling we can just insert Pryor into the line up at QB to finish the season (a position he'll have not learned or taken a snap at in practice)? Then we'll be set and have our franchise QB next year? All I can say is WOW.
