History: Trade for a veteran not in the premise, but in his concentration on Jay's INT PCT as something to compare him to Hasselback, Green and Brees. Jay has had most of his picks on tips or deep jump balls. His worst passes were not INT'd by the Jints.

Of course, there are some interesting tidbits...
The opinion among the likes of then-offensive coordinator Chan Gailey and the rest of the staff was that neither Fiedler nor Huard was a starting-caliber quarterback. Furthermore, it was clear to most everyone that the team would have to upgrade after the season.

At one point, Wannstedt went so far as to say, ``If you took Green and Fiedler out there in the street and had them throw against each other, you couldn't tell the difference.''

Brees has the second-worst rating in the AFC.

However, it's worth noting that even Brees has a lower interception percentage (3.8) than Fiedler.
:rolleyes2

Interesting article. It's always nice to see a reference to the cartoon icons Mr. Peabody and his pet boy Sherman.

Terrible??

What would Fiedler's INT percentage be if NY Giant defenders could catch balls that hit them in the chest?

Yeah... no chit

^^^^If, if, if, if my grandmother had wheels she'd be a bus.

If Mare makes one field goal we beat the Patriots.

Ifs are useless in football.

I only thought it was a bit off by how in the title and at some point it seems like he's prescribing a fix for the Dolphins quarterback situation, by means of trading for a veteran, but he discusses no possibilities and just ends up talking about how we got to where we got...not where we could go in the future.

I thought he rather held back (as usual) on Jay Fiedler, pulled his punches a bit. Jay Fiedler's interception rate is a direct reflection of him as a quarterback no matter what you think about interceptions deep down the field. Those interceptions are in no way excused because they most often result from an overall lack in consistency with the downfield passing game, which is in no small part Fiedler's fault.
