Terrible Miami Fans

I never blamed the fans for the current problems with the team. I am not condemning them either for not going to the games the rest of the year. I do think there is a big problem that has been going on for over a decade during not only losing seasons but also playoff seasons. That is the problem I have and will continue to have.

When the Canes and the Fins shared the orange bowl the place was always packed with many attendence records. The whole stadeum would shake and rattle. Tickets were hard to come by then. You would have loved it. Football was the only game in town.
Now the place is not user friendly if you ask me. The seats are WAY back from the field and there lots of inside sports bars with TV's. It's just not the same and may never be again.
Believe me it will take a lots to get back to the good old days. The 11 -5 season was a good start and if the team had continued to win eventually the place would be full.
The only answer I have is put a solid team togather and WIN back the local support.
Most of the people rooting for the Heat are disenfrancised Dolphin fans as well.
Build it and they will come. Then you'll REALLY enjoy your visits and everyone will be happy.

So what name did you use to post under? Perhaps I can see what we did wrong and attempt to fix the problem.
Thanks for asking Nubs but I went down that road with one of your admin and all I got was locked out and called a bunch of names. Of course that was in a private message so nobody could see it but me. Very classy move.

From what I can see, abuseofpower has never been given an infraction or a warning. :idk:

I don't want to touch this subject matter with a ten foot pole as it is none of my business and I have no beef with the mods, but the guy is obviously a rereg on a new account.

You sir are correct. When they figure it out they will lock me out again so they don't look bad. So this might be my last post.

1. Despite being "sold out" the stadium is never close to being full.
2. 30-40% of the attendance is regularly that of fans for the opposing team. This is a fact even if the team wins 1 game or 11.
3. The team has trouble selling out Dolphins playoff games, and in some cases(2000 Colts playoff game) can't sell out playoff games.
4. The fan base actively ROOTS against the team and HOPES for losses. All to get the first pick to potentially draft a player that is not a guaranteed success and might not even declare for the 2012 draft.

You guys are absolutely right, there is nothing wrong with this fan base. The past decade has shown that Miami has one of the best, if not the best, fans in the league.

1. At least we "sell out", regardless of how it happens. Most fan bases with teams as bad as the Dolphins have been the last decade dont sell out every game. The Bucs and Bengals are actually promising teams now and still fail to sell out. Detroit often failed to sell out the last few years. The Chargers have problems selling out and they are actually good.

2. Thats a HUGE exaggeration. Huge. I have been to Pats and Jets games here at Sun Life and they have the biggest opposing fanbases here and the stadium was NOT 40% them. Non-division home games really dont even come close to that mark either...they have even less opposing fans than Jets and Pats games.

3. That 2000 game was sold out. So was the 08 game.

4. Go check the Indy boards and see whats up there.

We are not Green Bay or Philly. Few places are. For one, they have nothing else to do. For two, the cultural dynamics are just different. All things considered though, the fact that we have sold out games for so damn long with a terrible product on the field consistently, Id say our fan base is alright.

You think maybe the user name gives it away ? Oviously the guys in charge now are pretty lenient so i say change your name again to Iluvmods and give them another chance.

You keep being intentionally vague so what choice do we have? If you just explain your situation and what happened, we might be able to work something out.

Look at all the Superbowl winners these past few years. The G-Men, The Steelers, The Packers, Saints, Colts, etc. They don't win because they have great coaches and talented rosters! They win because their fans are super duper loud! We could learn a thing or two.

How do they win on the road? All those fans don't go with them...they must pack them in their luggage...

no but if you guys down there dont start a roit if mangini is coming in to be our next head coach. this team is going to hell in a lil roll boat.

I will be first in line torch in one hand pitch fork in the other

Mangini or Herm Edwards as the new coach is the only thing that would make me say '**** it' and just stop watching or following football altogether.
