“There are a lot of good things we can do,” safety Will Demps said. “For example, there are other teams, New England and San Diego, they kind of showed us some good things for us to kind of attack it. I’m not going to give out the total keys of how to stop it, but we have a good plan going into it.”

That plan probably will include shutting down Brown, who is averaging 4.9 yards per carry. With the tandem of Brown and Williams, Miami is gaining 126 yards rushing per game, which is good enough for 10th in the league.

Seems like every team that is facing us is so worried about the Wildcat and are so focus on how to stop it that they are forgetting about our base defense.

Miami uses the Wildcat sparingly and teams are expecting it so much that I think it will make them fail. To be honest the same plays I saw in New England from the Wildcat were the same against the Chargers I think Miami is saving the best for last.

"Texans want to stop the Wildcat"
I wonder if they got this from inside sources

Fine, stop it if you can, it will just give Chad Pennington the oportunity to throw a few touchdown passes.

This is exactly what I said after the NE game. Even if we dont use it that much, teams are going to spend time they could've used to gameplan something else, on the wildcat.
So they might not get to see our other strengths as well

I wouldn't be surprised if Tony Sparano comes out with something new in the Wildcat, like flipping Ginn Jr over to QB to throw some more confusion to the opposing defense or at least have Ginn in motion to either run it or throw it.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Ronnie Brown goes ahead and throws some passes even...

Man i cant wait for Sunday. Look i like to follow stats alot and The Texans are allowing 139.5 yard a game on the ground. Their run defense is not the best If defenses like New England and SD failed what makes them think they can. That is all Im saying.

We dont have to throw all they need to do is run. Houston has been horrible on against the run this year. You Ricky and Ronnie back there run it and use an unbalance line.

you know what I realy think is the biggest advantage of running this system is that teams have to prepare for it which gives them less time to prepare for our actual offense. At the end most teams that are say for a example 90% prepared for our normal offense in week 1 n 2 since the wildcat was introduced teams are going to be something like 60-70% for our main offense which gives us more of a advantage then anything else. Football is all about how do you prepare for your opponent.

They want to stop the Wildcat, what they need to stop is the run. The Texans allowed over 100 yards against Pitt, Tennesee and Jacksonville. Ronnie right now seems like the beast of the east. Then you have Ricky who is averaging 3.9 yards a carry.

Last year the Texans won by a field goal and you know still think we are a fluke. If there is a team they think and want to beat is us, but you have to remember last year Ronnie ran all over them. I think Ronnie can have game similiar to the won he had against NE anyday now and if the Texans are not aware of that they are in for a big surprise.

exactly. its doing enough dmg where htey are worried about it and spending lots of time practicing for it. Rem there are sitll lots of tricks u can do with it such as Ginn at the QB spot instead of brown or Brown giving it to RW, and RW thorwing it to RB on the flat of the opposite side since the D doesnt usually pay attention to that. WHen RW watned to throw last game you saw had he passed it to RB it would have gone for a looooooooong way.

No offense, but you cannot replace Brown from the wildcat. You guys need to understand that Brown is your best player and is one of the main reason this offense is rolling right now so he needs to stay in. You can but Ginn as a WR and make him roll kinda how Ricky does it, but forget about Brown being replaced you are exposing yourself to a bad snap or turnovers. No offense. Granted there is alot that can be done out of this formation

Look it is simple, The Wildcat is not a gadget play. The Wildcat is a power run play, teams know we are gonna run it and they won be able to do anything about it. Look at NE and SD. The Texans are spending all their time against the offense and are forgetting that Pennington has been on a role lately, they are forgeting about Fasano, Camarillo, and Martin. They are forgeting about our running game and this will help us offensively.

I want the Phins to finally beat Houston and not by 7 or 3 points, By 21, 28 or 31 points, you have to admit in the last couple of years the loses to Houston have really hurt us and they are the only team in the league we have not beaten. Hopefully this is our year.

We actually used the Wildcat formation a lot against the Chargers. We used it a lot more than I expected us to. Eventually, teams are going to figure out how to stop the Wildcat and I don't trust Chad Pennington enough to bet anyone with his little dink and dunk throws over the middle and to the sidelines.

The Wildcat has been effective thus far but I'm concerned with its longevity in the professional ranks. For now it seems to be working so I'm all about going with it but I think eventually we will have to transition to something else.

EVERYONE wants to stop the Wildcat. I want a mountain of gold in my lap but that doesn't mean it's gonna happen.
