Last winter when we signed TE Teyo Johnson, I thought this would be an outstanding move. I remember he was a very talented WR at Stanford and when he was drafted by the Raiders, they moved him to TE. After a couple teasing years with the Raiders, he was cut. He did next to nothing with the Cardinals last year. I thought that he would realize that by signing with the Dolphins, he could tap some of his immense potential. The guy has special speed for a tight end and both athletic and playmaking ability. Evidently, the light is not going to go off for this young man. He doesn't want to pay the price and work to become the special player he could be. Imagine the possibilities of McMichael and a motivated Teyo Johnson! What a TE combo that would be. Imagine the options for Daunte Culpepper with two great receiving tight ends. And imagine the red zone targets (Johnson is 6'6 and 260 lbs.) But instead, he dogs it and is buried on the depth chart. I would be absolutely shocked if he made the final cut. Such a waste. I really have no sympathy for these guys in the NFL who have loads of talent but don't want to work to become great. They have no idea how blessed they are and are complacent to the point of ignorance.
In closing, I'm just really disappointed with the effort Teyo Johnson has put forth so far with the Miami Dolphins. He could be a special player and part of something special here in Miami. But instead he chooses the path of least resistance. The only footsteps Teyo will be hearing this season is that of the Turk asking him to hand in his playbook in a few weeks. What a waste. :shakeno:
