Thank you Stephen Ross!

He wasn't the owner when that deal was signed. Just as it won't be the next owners problem when Ross sells the Dolphins. The Dolphins made money, and so did the county. You always leave the last part out.

Well he is reaping the reward of that deal.

Which is the by product of making tons of money for themselves. If those other businesses sell a great product, they will make their money. They dont owe their success to the Dolphins.

Believe it or not, the Miami Dolphins arent responsible for the beaches of South Florida. Nor are they responsible for the night clubs. And Stephen Ross sure as hell isnt responsible for the Miami Heats success.
any business that takes any money from people attending the games owes it to the Dolphins. there are many citizens that benefit from the cabbie at the airport to the bell boy at the hotel, to the waiter at the restaurant the fans attend. not to mention the hundreds of employees in and around the stadium on game day. the city and state benefit from every sale generated by the people attending the games with sales tax.
all I'm saying is the public benefits so there is nothing wrong with them contibuting

They contribute by paying for their tickets and buying their product. Without the public paying for tickets and watching the games, what happens to the NFL? It dies.

Private businesses shouldnt be able to socialize their costs and privatize their profits. American citizens "owe" nothing to the NFL.

Yes dlocks, he runs a business not a non for profit. May he burn in hell, I guess.

I never said he shoudnt make a profit. He is the one asking for tax funds not me lol. He makes a profit. hell just on naming rights alone he makes 7.5 million dollars a year

You frame things in a certain way. You continue to make it seem like what he's asking for is out of line. Meaning not the norm with other big business in Florida. I'll remind you, he paid some where near 1 billion dollars. You act like his father gave him the franchise, because he was worried his son was bored.

And you have more than said you don't think the city should invest in our Miami Dolphins. Although on the other side of your mouth you say they should pay 33% in your perfect scenario.

Freaking circles.

What total BS!

The city is getting tax revenue and jobs from having the Miami Dolphins in their city. They should pay their fair share. It's a business, and the city doesn't get a free ride either.

Its not a perfect scenario at all its just what will prob get it done. I dont personally think its the city of miami's job to invest in the dolphins but there is a level of benefit just not what the nfl want u to believe.
I think if u frame these type of bills and work with the city to make it happen its a good thing but the trying to rush this through with out a vote was kind of dubius but hey he tried and u cant blame him.
Also we dont usually pay 33 percent of the costs with an intrerest free loan to most business's in area that not even close to a norm

he paid 1 billion dollars and im pretty sure he plans to sell it for much more, it was not some altruistic endeavor

we really have beat this to death but your saying we should pay for all buildings or 33 percent of all buildings that create jobs and create tax revenue. hell Walmart would love to talk about that.

everyone in the city doesn't go to the games but everyone benefits from the sales tax collected. the public does profit thanks to the Dolphins

not at the amount the dolphins are getting and proposing. Lets also not forget the dolphins have been here since 1966.

Profit that will be gained in many ways. The city of Miami doesnt owe its success to the Dolphins. If they move, another business will see an opportunity and move in on it. Probably in the form of another NFL team, seeing the potential of playing in a world famous location.

I find this debate all the more hilarious 6 months removed from the election. The words "socialism" and "entitlement" were brought up often and loudly. Now im in the middle of a debate about how the city "owes" it to a private business and should give away redistributed public funds. If thats not a sense of entitlement, i dont know what is.

Wonder if Stephen Ross would agree hes only rich because of others and he should give away his money because he owes it to them? I wonder what word he would use to describe that mentality?

The city of Miami gets tax revenue from having the Miami Dolphins in Miami. It's common business practice for a city to give business incentives to continue for businesses to stay in their city and to attract other business. I would love to live in the world some of you live in, but what I just described is how business is done world wide.

Miami and the ppl of Miami are not special, and they need to play by the same rules as the rest of us.

FYI, you aren't involved in the WE. You don't live in Miami, you don't pay any sort of tax there. And I'm not the one that came up with the 33% split, you did.

Universal studios just got 300 million in tax breaks. They used the Obamacare waiver for the last 2-years. Disney World is going after a 200-300 million in tax break as we speak. Universal just got 9 million tax dollars today to build a new bridge for their new hotel. What are you talking about?
