Take it from a lifelong Knicks fan: This edition is the sorriest ever. And the reason is Larry Brown.

Brown signed for a price that could have paid for New York's previous 20 coaches combined, to navigate the Knicks' floundering ship in the direction of the team's golden age.

He has not merely failed in that effort. He has failed utterly and to a degree no one could have imagined. Worse, he has done so without dignity or grace or accountability. His performance throughout this season has been petty and mean-spirited.

"I've made every team I ever coached better," he said. "Every one. Look, I've been coaching how many years? I never left a team in worse shape than I got it. Not one. Now think about that. Think about me and think about the guy who's talking. I never left a team in worse shape. Never asked anything of my players any different than I'm doing right now. Think about that. Think about that. So the bottom line is, I want us to rebound, defend, share the ball, play hard. That's all. If you can't do that, if that's not important enough to you, it's not on me. It's not on me."

Nice to see someone saying what noone else will. Brown is not going to win with these players and the Knicks cant completely reshape the team in the standard 2 yrs that he sticks with a team. Does this team even come close to resembling anything Brown has ever coached?

Time to cut the losses....fire the coach, have a fire sale with the players, and buyout those that cant be traded. Keep a couple vets (Marbury/Richardson?) and get a coach who will let these guys run. It would be great to see Nate, Starbury, Q, and Frye running the floor. Mabey they could even win more than one game a month.

Knicks need to draft/sign a defensive, shot-blocking forward to put beside Curry.

Forget besides curry. they need a shotblocker/rebounder instead of curry since he does neither.

At this point the only Knicks that should be kept are:
-Jamal Crawford who's D and shot selection have improved. hes still trying which is more then most of the team. I never thought Id see the day when both of those got better but hes worked.
- Q-Rich Because he clearly wants to be here and is willing to play hurt. hes been the vocal leader encouraging guys to continue to play hard while some like *cough* Marbury, Fat Jerome James, and Fat curry* dont do poop. Hes not having a good year but hes out there playing his *** off so for what its worth...
- Frye... Because he hasnt been bitten by the lazyness bug that plagues most of this team
- David Lee - See Frye
- Nate Robinson...so long as he starts listening to Larry.
- Malik Rose - Cause he also still cares
- Jackie Butler....See Frye and Rose
- Qyntel Woods...Also still trying and listens

The rest...jalen, Starbucks, Francis, Curry, James...i dont care what they do with them. Bench em for all i care, or better yet cut em. They havent done **** all year to make this team better. Pains me to say it cause I like Steph and I like curry but these guys are more part of the problem then part of the solution.

As far as blaming this on Brown...its everyones fault within the organization. Brown knew it was a long term thing as did Isiah when he took over. At least Isiah has put some talent on the roster albeit the curry move looks horrendous since he hasnt improved a ******* drop all year. Curry has heart problems alright...he has none. One thing Ill say for Brown, hes still coaching like its a playoff game because he knows the young players can still get something out of this year. Thomas...he better make use of those 2 knick picks and trade Jalen and Mo Taylor for a few more picks...trade any of the guys i mentioned for whatever you get. Just get them out of here. Their attitude stinks almost as bad as their play.

did the thread starter blame Larry? LOL!!!!!!

Larry and Isiah should be ashamed for accepting money to coach and GM this year. The product they are putting out sucks and sadly it will continue for many years thanks to the stupid long term deals Isiah saddled them with.

Its Isaisah not all great players are ment to be good presidents.

I wouldnt single out Larry as the only reason the Knicks stink, but he does deserve some blame for how the Knicks are having a season that would be bad by LA Clippers standards. The Knicks are the worst team in the NBA and they have some talent on their roster, the coach isnt getting anything out of these guys.
Isiah needs to flatout be fired no question about it, but Brown has coached terribly this year.

It's not Larry Browns fault. His team is just full with players that have bigger ego's then they have game.

There's a lot of fingers that can be pointed here. Brown and Thomas are both culpable. Personally, I think Brown did arguably the worst coaching job in the NBA this season. But Thomas mortgaged the team's future for...this?!? No first round picks this year and they're probably going to have to swap picks with Chicago next year. So they're probably losing TWO top 5 picks for Eddy Freakin' Curry.

Honestly, I don't even know where I'd begin to rebuild. They've got no less than FOUR shoot-first point guards (three of whom have huge contracts) with a coach that wants his point guards to get other guys involved first. And oh yeah, all of those guys are defensive liabilities with a coach who prizes defensive effort above all else. They've got two overweight, underachieving big men with unmoveable contracts. They've got an injured, underachieving swingman with an unmoveable contract. Even if Thomas knew where to start rebuilding (he doesn't), it wouldn't matter; he can't move the vast majority of the guys that need to be shipped out.
