Thanksgiving of 93

That game is one of the earliest memories I have. I was about 4 and a half at the time. My mom is a Dolphins fan and my uncle is a Cowboys fan. We were at my grandparents and he was home from college. Apparently he wanted to strangle me by the end of the evening because I kept laughing at him.

Haha that’s great!

I remember that game. Watching it at my grandmas house screaming and so excited. I was in 11 grade I think A few days later my grandma passed away. Miami collapsed because of injuries. I mean the whole team was hurt. So I have mixed feelings about that game.

One side note. In the broadcoast OJ simpson was trying to get an interview with Pete Stevonvick our kicker. Something happened and it took too long. They lost the interview. I major before they cut it to commerical I saw OJ get really pissed about losing the interview. I was so shocked that he got upset. Then all that stuff happened years later and then not so shocked.

We watched this as a cul-de-sac event at a neighbor's house. I remember missing the field goal and stomping out of the house as an angry sulking teenager. Nasty old lady down the road was a Cowboys fan and she was giving it to me all day and not in a fun ribbing way.

Somebody ran out and told me it was all good we have the ball back. Kicked the game winner and suddenly as a kid I couldn't give it back to her for 5 minutes like I took it all day long. BS!

Good times!

You guys remember Thanksgiving of 1993 where you were watching the Dolphins upset the Cowboys? That’s the infamous Leon Lett fumble game. Happy Thanksgiving to you all this week!
The day before my 20th birthday at my parents' house filled with immediate and extended family. No one believed the Dolphins were hanging in there throughout the game with the mighty Cowboys. When the kick was blocked, I yelled "Damn it" and stomped out through the kitchen as I was slowly convinced over 3 hours that the Dolphins would pull the upset. My Dad grabs me in the living room to head back to the family room because of good old Leon Lett. Stoyanovich nails the winner and it's my favorite Thanksgiving to date.

Good luck to the Pack on Thanksgiving btw.

Strangely enough...I was sitting on my father-in-law's couch (lifelong Cowboys fan) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, right next to him, when Miami missed the kick and it looked like we lost the game. I took some serious **** for a few seconds....BUT THEN...Sir Lett happened.

I blew the hell up!!! He was SOOOOO pissed off...he didn't understand what happened, I had to explain it to him.

Everybody and their brother knew the Cowboys would go on to the Super Bowl that year, but it was good to get that one in their house...especially in that fashion!

I remember listening to it on the Armed Forces Radio Network, having to move my radio around my bedroom to get a decent signal. I'm not even sure we got live NFL games on TV at that point except for the Super Bowl. Had to listen to a crackling radio reception and then read about it in the next edition of Touchdown magazine or watch the highlights show later in the week.

edit: Actually we must have got live games because I can remember watching play-off games live from the early 90's like Buffalo beating us and the 49ers vs Cowboys games. Maybe channel 4 was broadcasting them as SKY didn't start till 1995.

I was 15 and at my Mamaw's house on my moms side of the family enjoying some good food in North Carolina. My aunt had just married her 3rd husband Mark and brought him him along. Now he was an fat, obnoxious over the top loud mouth know it all and a Cowboys fan to boot. Nobody in the family liked him....He ragged on me the whole game and cussed the Fins every play. When the kick was blocked he got even louder and laughing and saying some stupid crap about how much the Dolphins suck. But it didn't take long for him to have to turn right around and replace his turkey with crow. I didn't say a word when the second FG was good. Just got up out of the recliner gave him a little grin and went back to my aunts bedroom and played Nintendo with my cousins.

That marriage didn't alst too long and we were all glad about that.,

This was also one of my first dolphin's memories. Was at my aunts for Thanksgiving and she had one of those old school, wooden console TVs and me and all my cousins were surrounding it face-to-face (with the moms yelling not to sit to close to the tv lol).

Given my age at the time, I was sooooo confused what was going on, I just remember it kept going backwards and being funny lol

Good times

Yes. I’m Canadian. Had to work that day. Left to catch the game’s final moments.

Stood by myself cheering the weird final moments in a dingy sports bar.

A good Dolphin memory.
