Greetings Dolphin Fans.

I have spent the past few week researching this topic. As most of you are quite aware, the Dolphins schedule has been named the most difficult for this season. This is based on the 2008 regular season winning percentage of their opponents.

Being a NFL nut, I have created a website. A portion of this site will focus on each teams schedules. In my research I found that many factors aside from the opponets 08 results need to be considered in schedule toughness.

http://www.2010-super-bowl.com/2009-NFL-schedule.html

IE:

Road trips, who are the non divisional opponents a team plays on the road? Non-divisional Playoff opponents: Some teams play as many as six --others play as few as two. I consider a road trip when a team plays 3 of 4 consecutive games on the road. (Most NFL schedules feature 3 of 4)
Some teams have no such road trips on their schedule, others have two!

So I put what I hope is a comprehensive schedule page for each team.

I may be getting myself into a urinating conest with an elephant but here goes.

I would love to have some input about these pages (new site)

Are there things that you would like to see added?

It's tough based on LAST year.

Which is meaningless......

Analyzing our schedule this year based on 2004 results has just as much meaning as analyzing it based on last year. It's a new year, with teams changed. Injuries will happen, age will take effect, teams will surprise in good or bad ways. Thats the nature of the NFL. On paper, because of an entirely different season, our schedule looks tough, but we simply can't know.

I'm about tired of hearing this over and over as well.

If you're not able to see that the NFC and AFC west divisions ARE NOT AS GOOD as the NFC and AFC south divisions (last year and this upcoming year), then there's no helping you or others like you who can't bring yourselves to see that.

KC, OAK, STL, SF <<<<< IND, TENN, TB, CAR, ATL, NO, JAX

Not that hard to see, actually. Yeah, two years ago, Jax was up and ATL was down, then last year they flipped. Do you not think that about four teams from those two divisions won't kick a$$ next year? What proof do you need? Or are you just one who wants to think that somehow the Dolphins will skate through that lineup in 2009 so you have to rationalize it by saying the schedule will be soft? LOL!

No folks, it's a murderer's row line-up next year. Very few if any weeks off for this team. So get ready for it and don't be disappointed if they fall in record by a bit (or even a lot) next year.

I think the Texans will be a strong team in the South and the other three AFC South teams will decline (the Jags already have).

I don't think any team in the AFC West is any good, except the Chargers and they are beatable.

I think the NFC South is going to decline too, with the exception of the Falcons.

The Dolphins only real concern should be their own AFC East.

I think more to his point is, all it takes is 1 injury to change a whole team....Play Indy or NO without their Qbs, it' bet on Miami. Tenn without one of their Rbs, there is no way to guage these teams other than last yrs record. But if you want to do that then you have to gno back and look at the teams they beat. Using some peoples logic, since we beat the chargers last yr, and the chargers beat the colts last yr, we should be able to beat the colts this yr....you can go round and round. Until game week and you have seen these teams play THIS yr and what players are injured and which ones are playing, there really is no way to know.

That is a great point but I assume most fans already know that.

But does it seem fair to you that the Dolphins play teams whose winning percentage was .594... While the Vikings (also a playoff team in 08) play a schedule whose winning percentage was .420?

I assure The Dolphins staff wasn't pleased when they saw the release of their schedule. Additionally the players pay keen attention to who they play.

I think its a cop out..We've played all these teams already there are no new teams..only team im worried about is pittsburg and tampa bay...not saying we will win every game but theres no need to feel like we cant win any of them....didnt we like almost beat pittsburg 2 years ago and we were 1-15?

we beat Baltimore. Lost to Pittsburgh 3-0 in a monsoon mudbowl. Your worried about tampa bay?

The other teams in our division have a pretty tough schedule....I believe the Patriots schedule was the 3rd toughest. We just have to win the AFC East and finish ahead of the Pats/Jets/Bills and we should be better come playoff time having played a lot of tough teams.

Yep 100% agree. You are right the Pats are # 3, with the Bills and Jets being 6 and 7 respectively.

I am a Steeler fan and last year we were in the same situation. It turned out to be a huge confidence builder.

Yep but a tougher schedule always hurts wild card chances.

It just might be that 9-7 wins this division. But oh that's right the Bills and the Jets play in the East. I find it hard to believe that New England loses to either of them this year.

If Our schedule is indeed the toughest, then isnt it fair to say that we could win the division again because the Patriots almost play the same schedule and Tom Brady could go down with injury again?

I simply love the assertion we will now lose cus of a tough schedule. Cus nothing really ends up the way people see it anyway so I see us winning some tough ones and losing some tough ones, but winning more in the end.

Really? I see it differently. I see the East being tough. Bills are starting the season vs. Pats. They win that one, and the Bills have been good early on, they could change things right from the start cus the Pats have tough schedule too.

The point that has always concerned me is that our schedule is packed full of "historically" tough teams that don't typically fall off after a good year. We'll see how it goes. Indy sounds like they might have issues. Some other teams are an injury away from chaos.
