The 2025 Season, Superbowl Aspirations & the Tumor

We were this close to trotting out a Terron Armstead-Trey Smith-Creed Humphrey-Robert Hunt-Penni Sewell line.

Burrow and and that oline along with Tyreek Jonathan Taylor and whatever FA we put around them. That’s a championship core I don’t care what anyone says….you could’ve also taken Jamarr Chase instead of Sewell and signed a decent FA like Morgan Moses etc.

Still sad they butchered the rebuild so bad, oh what could’ve been…
Hard to believe the Tunsil trade didn't land us a single playoff winning roster.

Picks and Money!

Rico has stated his case. He doesn't want Grier and mcdummy here. He knows with these two here we won't win a superbowl.

I agree 100% with that. They will NEVER get to a superbowl with Grier as the GM. And especially not with mcdummy coaching. If that means that things have to downward spiral this year for Grier and mcdummy to be gone, that is exactly what we are hoping for. WE WANT a superbowl but understand it's not gonna happen with them.

Expecting Grier to build a roster strong enough and mcdummy to coach us to a superbowl is insanity.

What Rico is stating, at least how I interpret it, is that people wanting us to win equals Grier and Co to keep their jobs and we never get out of this groundhogs day of mediocracy... I happen to agree with that too. I'm out of patients. It's been 25 years. I can't stand when people tell me to be patient. There's plenty indicators to see things haven't changed.

How can anyone want Grier to remain here? The dude has no vision, no philosophy, no plan to build a team. This is his own admission. He completely failed our rebuild. That alone shouldve got him fired. He's not going to suddenly build one and even if he did it won't be successful with the way he handles player acquisitions and contracts. He's never drafted any legend players. Only above average safe picks. I think minkah was the only draft pick that will actually be considered in the upper echelon of players but now we know it was a Flores pick.

I mean, if you guys want to root for the team fine, go ahead. Don't get all offended when we come in with our doubts about them. We aren't falling for the annual hype and build up for the season like you guys.
There are a lot of masochists here
But a lot of them also don’t really know what it takes to be successful so I pity them
They just go along with the wash, rinse and repeat cycle hoping that Grier turns into George Young and McDummy all of a sudden turns into 1970’s Shula

Thread is full of pessimistic cry babies. “WAAAAA I want a Super Bowl” Good grief lmao.

At the end of the day, none of you have any control over any the decisions made by Stephen Ross. Grier and McDaniel are still in charge, and neither are likely going anywhere anytime soon. So you might as well just root for the damn team, and see how the **** plays out. They did what they were suppose to do this offseason, and bolstered up the in the trenches. Let it play out for the 2025 season.

Do you actually want to see the Dolphins win a Superbowl?

Its a simple question. But I realize this may not be everyone's goal when being a fan of this team. And that's fine, everyone has the right to root for the team for their own reasons.

There is a segement of the site that has begun to whine at an increasingly growing rate becuase the fan base is refusing to fall for their pre-season hype agenda again this season.

I've often read the line "you don't need to apologize for being optimistic" but on the other side of the coin, if you want to see the Dolphins win a Superbowl and you know there is a fatal flaw that will prevent this from happening, you should just "keep your mouth shut or be banned from the site for negativity" - its hypocritical in every sense of the word.

For those of you that do want to win a Superbowl in the near future its painfully obvious that our favorite team has a tumor and cutting it out, should be the main goal in 2025, not sneaking into the Wildcard round.

There is a mountain of data below that proves we are being managed by a complete and utter failure of a GM. His exit is the first step in possibly seeing the team hoist the Lombardi in the near future.

Just becuase the "optimists" resort to insults and bullying to try to sway opinons, doesn't mean they are better than anyone, if you want to see a Superbowl in the near future, you also should not apologize for that fact. In other words...

You don't need to apologize for wanting to see the Dolphins win a Superbowl

If a down year in 2025 means Grier takes his leave or gets fired, that's the best thing that could happen for the Dolphins in 2025 in my opinon.

When a person has a cancerous tumor and refuses to seek medical attention, they will eventually die from it. Grier is a cancerous tumor attached to the Dolphins and he is currently killing any chance the Dolphins have of winning a Superbowl.

An unfortunate truth, hopefully we're wrong or RONG but this team is most likely still competing for a wild card spot years after the Tunsil trade.

I will not apologize for wanting this team to fall flat on its face for the upcoming season just so Grier gets fired. I've had enough of his garbage.

And I give 0 effs what the homers think or say about my loyalty and fandom of this team. The fact that I'm still here invested in this team after all the garbage Flys right over their stupid ignorant heads!
This is no way a criticism of your opinion but are you saying you'd rather MM & Grier get sacked than win a superbowl?

That’s all fine but I’m going to go ahead and look forward to the season anyway,

10-7, maybe 11-6, if injuries aren’t brutal.

Maybe they’ll get a good draw in the playoffs and win a game, maybe they’ll play at Buffalo and lose a close one.

It’s certainly great to see the offense invested in two new OG’s and a bruising RB to compliment the electric RBs it’s already had. I feel a lot better about the backup QB position as well. Major upgrade in pure talent there.

Really looking forward to seeing Chop Robinson take the next step and Kenneth Grant’s massive presence. Thank god for Seiler, what a find by Grier.

There’s obvious concerns in the secondary. It is what it is for 2025, it will be one of the main reasons we don’t win the Super Bowl. I’d still say there’s about a 50/50 chance we make the second round of the playoffs.

If Tua gets hurt week 1, 5-12 is a possibility. I’m sure that would put a lot of smiles on the faces of you non-Dolphins fans.
Ah! The age-old "because you don't believe in the current team you're a non-fan" schtick.

Never (always) gets old.

Where's the long list of achievements, TEAM achievements based on success, that lends any basis for believing this current regime/roster has any shot at a trophy, any time soon? Where are the robust results of team leadership that lead to long-lasting, real excellence? Its fine for you if you want to believe they can or will, but anybody who sees differently and has been with this team for 50+ years (even less, just referring to myself) doesn't need to meet your criteria of fandom...they've long-suffered and have the right to doubt this organization's leadership after MANY years of proof supporting their ineffectiveness.

Some people believe it when they see the same story displayed on repeat.

I used to be the eternal optimist...for decades, that was me. No longer. The last few years broke that out of me. Sure there are parts of the team that are worth looking forward to...but to steal the OP's analogy somewhat, its like we're treating stage-4 cancer with fat-burning pills. She may get a little prettier on the surface, but inside her days are numbered.

That’s fine. There are 31 other options that await. 😁. Revel in all the choices you have!

You don’t have to be an eternal optimist to be annoyed by all the posters who want everyone to join in their pity party. Especially since it’s the same rehashed complaints they’ve been making since mid season.

There comes a time when you cross into troll territory.

If you didn’t think we needed to address both OG spots and find new backup QBs, that’s your right. If you don’t like Kenneth Grant, so be it. But why try and make others join your thought process, relentlessly?

People wanting Tua to get hurt shouldn’t have their fandoms questioned? lol got it.

No. I'm saying I know damn well they will never win one so I want new ppl running this team. I want a superbowl in the worst way that's why I want them gone

Do you think he can make a 180 like that?

I hope he will try, but I wonder if the players will revolt after they have been running the asylum for the last 3 years.

This is why I wanted Hill and Ramsey gone, they clearly have lost respect for McD and im worried they will be very hard to get back in line at this point.
I am not optimistic that he will change his stripes. Could he? Yes, he is still the Head Honcho and most players would probably welcome it. I agree on Hill and Ramsey though. Those 2 will never bring us any success, they are a cancer at this point.

I still venture to say if you give Tua more than 2 secs in the pocket, things will change. If you give Tua a running game, things will change. If you give Tua an Offensive line, things will change. The KEY is Offensive Line! If no one understands this, repeat it 3 times! The KEY is Offensive Line!

Heck, Skylar Thompson may still be QB2 if we had an Offensive line!

This is my most credible evidence against keeping Grier. He had a treasure chest of draft picks and salary cap space. He should have built the trenches 1st that draft and FA. The average players on the roster would have looked better. Now he is going into a soft re-build? I give him credit for this draft going to the trenches, but too little, too late. I have seen enough of him. Sad fact is, he is not going anywhere until '27 at the very earliest. That is if our next HC Weaver shows promise, but needs personnel badly in his 2nd year, then they may bring in another GM. This is doable because the HC will be on his 2nd season, not his 1st. I do not see Grier going away until after the '26 season at the earliest.

I’m OK with their draft, as a stand-alone event…but I just feel like it’s putting lipstick on a pig…the main problems this team has are beyond the draft.

And I’d never hope for a Dolphin to get injured..even if it provided addition by subtraction. But Tua’s history can NOT be ignored. He’s likely to get injured again as long as he’s playing…it just seems inevitable.

Either way, until management is fixed, and that includes the owner, it’s all superfluous minutiae.
