The '27 QB Draft Class shrinks again

Personally, I’d take Mendoza over anyone in 2027. Seems to have all the physical skills and has it together upstairs.

The hype over Mendoza is hilarious.

He was MEH at Cal, but has one really good season this year at IU and people are falling all over themselves because he’s 6 foot 5.

Julian Sayin will likely be more polished and have accomplished more once he’s draft eligible in 2027, but since he’s not 6 foot 5 you guys will be unimpressed.

Mendoza might very well be a good NFL QB. But we need to see a helluva lot more than we’ve seen thus far.

There's a diamond in the rough out there somewhere...can the Dolphins identify and get him? Preferably with a low-round pick? Ewers maybe has something?

Everything's wide open.

I don’t agree, I think he’s a legit prospect when talking about h th e whole package

IMO the next qb has to be minimum 6’4

Sayin is my favorite player in college football but you are correct, he does not fit my prototype for an AFC East QB. I like Mendoza but am confused as to how he’s the #1 overall pick and Will Howard was never considered above a day 3 pick. I don’t see much difference.

Last season, I was pumped on Manning and hoping we could land him when he declares.

Watching this season? CJ Carr (a freshman) is undoubtedly better than Manning (at least right now).

I had higher expectations for Arch this season.
Carr and Mannings numbers are similar and car has better weapons and played a trash schedule. Undoubted? I don’t think so.

That makes ZERO sense! That's like saying you can scout how good a running back is with a suck-ass offensive line.
Because I don’t care what the receiver does after the ball has been placed.

And if the receivers can’t get separation so be it.

Always watch in isolation

You know... someone in Tampa Bay thought like you about Steve Young so they traded him to SF where he won a couple of Super Bowls and ended up in the Hall of Fame. I rest my case!

Perhaps you should learn more about scouting before you go on and on with inaccurate posts.

So you, Mr. Scout expert here thinks you can properly evaluate a 1st year starter college QB with a sub-par OL and receivers that can't get separation and determine his success in the NFL??...got it! I'm sure Marino in his senior year quicky dropped off your draft board...:bang:

Great point. And a pretty apt comparison I'd not previously considered.

Off the top of my head I'd say that Will Howard is the better athlete and runner, while Mendoza might, and I say might, be the better and more accurate passer.

When all is said and done, Howard's 2024 and Mendoza's 2025 statistical outputs might end up being eerily close.
