if Quinn does well at combine/personal workout, I anticipate a competition for the #6 pick

I hope I am wrong but these team could be interested:

- Minnesota

- Houston

- Carolina

- Green Bay

mitigating cirumstances:

- Houston trades for Plummer

- Childress feels pressure to win now

- Jamarcus falls

- Matt Millen gets another bright idea

Minnesota drafted Tavares Jackson in the 2nd round last year. He performed very well in the pre-season, then performed like the project he actually is in the regular season. I'd expect them to give him at least another season or two before they look elsewhere.

Green Bay also has Aaron Rodgers waiting in the wings. Unless the Packer staff if convinced they've made a mistake, I don't see them being a player.

the Vikings fired their GM after the draft, I am not so sure that Childress is devoted to Jackson. but he may feel compelled to win sooner than later

GB's interest in drafting a QB will depend on McCarthy's opinion of Rodgers

What about Cleveland at the 3rd or 4th pick, it seems like that spot would be more important that 6th overall, though the Skins could use some picks.

pure speculation on my part

for all I know the Raiders will take Quinn and Russell will go to Cleveland

my best guess is that Quinn does well and falls to 6 or the does poorly and falls to 9

then again maybe the Lions will take a QB

Gotcha. I'd hope Millen will be "smart" enough to not take one having been burned by a former top 3 QB...

Jesus!

There is no battle for #6, at least not us!!, we are really FINE with the #9. GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:
Ps stop this quinn maddness, if he fall to us, great!!, if not, next year we could go for a qb and, for this year, in the 3er round, we could pick Staton

I think Green Bay will have Farve next year, Minnesota will go with Jackson, Carolina's team is too good to pick a Qb in the 1st rd, and if Houston trades or releases Carr they will acquire Plummer. Am I the only person who is a little interested in Carr.

There was a post in a Cleveland browns forum yesterday saying the Lions where going to draft Thomas from Wisconsin.

- Houston trades for Plummer

I keep hearing about this? Can anyone explain how this makes any sense. Why trade a pick for a guy who is almost 100% guaranteed to be cut? I can understand maybe you want him and do not want to compete financially. But picks seem too valuable to me.

To increase your chances of acquiring him and to stay out of a potential bidding war with other teams.

Plummer is garbage though, I would wait for him to be cut, negotiate a contract, and see how much the next team antes, then let him walk if it's too high. Plummer might want to give Houston a discount because of Kubiak being his old QB coach. I just don't see Houston trading for him. Rosenfels is just as good as he is IMO.

I dont know if you guys know this site...It's call Footballguys.com. It's a real good site and updates all the time. They basically search the web from newspapers and so forth and Link them to the site..The Trade would be Denver sending Jake plummer and Tatum Bell over to houston for Houston's first rounder. They are high on bell. I am too, I think Shannahan has doubts about Tatum and is not convinced hes a good back. I personally think This guy could be a stud, Just needs to get out of that two back ssystem..Houston this trade would be good for houston as far as getting tatum bell, I dunno about Plummer..He had a decent year in 05. so we'll see.

I live in Denver and that trade proposal was generated here. That would work out great for Denver, but would make little sense for Houston. I think they can get Plummer after he's cut, and possibly Adrian Peterson (more likely not, but definitely Marshawn Lynch). Tatum Bell is a guy who has all the physical tools, but he has never grasped the starting job. He was given the opportunity last year and couldn't hold off a rookie. Fumbles too much and runs soft between the tackles. Tatum only looks good as a secondary back, give him the full workload and he will break down.

Stanton would be cool, but he might not last til the 3rd

I would be cool with Edwards too
