What would you consider a good season by this team this year? I think anything over 500. would be a very good season considering, I'm hoping for better but only time will tell. I ask this because I went out to by a game guide for my ESPN 2K5 and Madden 05 (side note...the Madden curse, is it still working? The Ravens were killed week one) I live in the Philly area and I was at a EB games, two guys in there were playing Madden 05 and we just started talking football, one of them a Ravens fan and the other a Eagles fan the topic of best players came up and after 10 minuets of debates I revealed I was a Fin fan, well as you can imagine the two or should I say everyone in the store (4 or 5 people) gave me the same Miami will stink this year...what a suprise huh? Anyways I did my usual "Miami will not stink" that I must have said ten times by now and the conversation went on and on. I finally grew tired of defending my team which at this time last year 99% of the people I would talk to would say how good Miami would be and I would say I'm not sure yada yada yada, and that would be that.
The media has all but ruiend Miamis rep in one off season, we win ten games last year with IMO a much less explosive O and a D that was not as deep but we win 10 games. The Oline is unproven and the running game had a big hit without question but as for the rest we have made some good moves to help this team improve. There is no doubt that this team has a WR tandem in CC and MB that can't be ignored a TE that could easily make a probowl and a QB that has a arm that can get the ball deep with accuracy a line that is young and a RB with size and speed if you take any of those players individually, and ask any coach in the league other then AJ would they take any of them and what do you think the answer would be? I say they would take them no questions asked yet we are called a bad team!
What does all this mean? It means that if you have a team with this kind of talent it would be hard not score points and be a threat. I say don't let all the bad reporting get you down and don't believe every thing you read, because your only stressing yourself for nothing.There is no way this team is as bad as the reports say we are, and only time will tell what the future holds. The next time a rival fan gives you grief..ask them when was the last time the fins had a losing season and them ask them when was their team had a losing season! When they come back with stop living in the past tell them to stop dreamnig of the the future!
All the reports have us losing badly when the fact remains we have legit talent on the O side of the ball and the one thing this team has that teams likethe....Jets,Bills,Bengals,Cards,Seahawks,Steelers,Bears,Browns,Jags,Texas,
Chargers,Lions,Falcons,Saints,Giants,Redskins don't have is a long stretch of winning seasons, notice I left some teams out those teams deserve some repect and I'll leave it at that. But the thing the so called experts refuse to understand or take into account is this team knows how to win we may not win late in the year but we are tough to beat any other time of year and that has not changed.!
I have a good feeling we will get the last laugh, remember we only need to be 500. to get the respect back and this teams D should be able to handle that all by themselves! Our O is without question a work in progress, but after looking at our D I'll take our O over and the spread because they are way underated thanks to poor reporting. By the way if any fan comes on here and says they think we stink ask them if they think their teams coach will take this fins team lightly, I'll promise you the Bengals arent going to take this team lightly. Sometimes you need to take a step backwards to move forward and that may very well happen to this team before alls said and done. I read ome fans on this site thinkwe might be in big trouble if we lose Sunday night, I stongly disagree, for one I don't think we will lose and two I think we could lose 3 out of the first four games and still have a great season it's only 16 games in a season but we lost 6 last year and finshed 10 and 6 lots of injurys, teams that arew be touted to be playoff teams fall off teams pedicted to be losers suprise, a lot of things can happen in 16 weeks so I say don't stress and have patients we have a better chance then most of the teams I mentioned above, you need to look at the big picture. :cooldude:
