It really is sad how this all went down. I hate Florida State by birth. That's just how it is when it comes to college football in the state of Florida. But as a young kid growing up watching the 'Canes and being in the Orange Bowl and learning the game of football, Bobby Bowden was probably the first opponent I ever really learned to respect on my own. I hate that this legend of college football is being shoved out the door before he can even gather his things.

Best of luck to the Florida State football program going forward.

As an old school college football guy.....it's always tough to see any legend leave....because you know that everytime one like this goes....you're gettting closer and closer to seeing them become extinct all together....

It's especially tough to see them go out like this.....but it's the best thing for the program going forward...

I guess I'm more partial to the old geesers from the Bear Bryant era.....especially Papa Joe.....him and Bear had some terrific battles back in the day...

For me they are a connection to the past....

Enjoy Paterno while you can....because we'll never see guys give their entire lives, hearts, souls, and even own money to these Universities the way these guys have....

Have to have MASSIVE respect for a guy who continued to play Miami and Florida every year, and still have all of those great seasons. That's why FSU and Bobby Bowden have my respect. It's going to be odd looking across to the FSU sideline and not seeing Bobby Bowden there. He unfortunately became a victim of his own success.

I have a lot of respect for what Bobby did for the school and what he meant to the Florida State football program. That being said, it was time. Sad but true, you knew that eventually Bobby would lose that golden luster he had through the late 80's up until the late 90's. The decline was hard to watch, but it is best for both sides.

He's quite possibly the greatest college football coach of all time. I think CFB is incredibly boring today and one of the main reasons is that the old Miami-FSU rivalry is dead for now. That was when CFB was great(to me) watching all those great FSU and UM teams battle it out.
