So if we win vs KC, and NY wins vs SEA, then NE is out of the division race. They would still have a chance at the wildcard, but that's not what WE have to worry about. How cool would it be if they BOTH lost on Sunday. It wouldnt really matter to us if the Jets lost, since if they beat us coming off a win, they're in, and if they lose and beat us, they're still in, but yea.

And the Jets are out if they lose and the Pats win.

No one is out next week. It is possible for any team to still win the division regardless of what happens.

If the Patriots win out, they can win the division with a tie in the Jets/Dolphins game or a loss/tie next week of the winner of the Jets/Dolphins game. The Patriots also win if the Jets and Dolphins lose next week, the Jets/Dolphins tie, and the they go 1-1 the next 2 weeks.

The winner of the Jets/Dolphins game can lose next week and still win the division if the Patriots lose a game.

I think there are a few more scenarios involving ties but I'm too tired to get into them.

The Jets are out if they lose and the Pats win this week AND next week. The Jets can't be eliminated this weekend, nor can the Fins. The Pats could be, though.

you're right, but who cares?

what are the odds of a tie?

We are out of the div race IF NE wins BOTH of their games and we lose this week not if NE wins just this week.

It's going to come down to the final game so we might as well both be 10-5 and eliminate NE from div title contention, right? although technically they wouldn't be eliminated if we tied in week 17 b/c then we'd both be 10-5-1 and they'd be 11-5 and win the div.

Beat the Chiefs.

Beat the Jets.

That is the only scenario that matters.

Yeah but if the Patriots win their final two games and the Ravens lose one of the next two then the Patriots will get the wild card.

Bottom line is we just have to win out, but as far as the WC for the Taintriots goes if BAL wins this SAT & the Cheaters lose this SUN they are out regardless of what happens in the last week. I believe BAL would edge them out w/ a better record against common opponents. However, if the Jest finished tied with those two then they would get in.

so...we should be hoping that we win our final 2 obviously.

we should be hoping for the ravens and colts to win their final 2...and the patriots lose at least one, so theyre out.

yes?

If NE loses this week, and Miami and NY win then NE is Mathematically out of the running for the division title. Both Miami and NY will have better records than NE with one game to go and since they play eachother they both can't lose. Even a tie in that last week would give both teams a better record than NE..... again, if NE loses this week.

I think Baltimore has to beat Dallas too. The Pats can get a wild card spot if Baltimore loses this week.

Unless we tie, not likely but thye'd still have a shot.
