alright. let's for fun take 7 names that the consensus of this board would like to draft at #25 and assume they are on the board when we pick. please note i realize that some of them will most likely already be gone but this is for fun and to see what way we'd all lean. let's assume that our current roster is unchanged which means crowder, carey and bell all return. (doubt that really happens)

the choices are:

1) michael oher ot
2) andre smith ot/og
3) louis delmas s
4) alex mack c
5) hakeem nicks wr
6) duke robinson og
7) larry english olb

please make your top 3 selections in order and support your decision.

my top 3 are:

1) michael oher- i think this guys an all pro left tackle. i would run the card up if he was on the board. with him and jake long we'd have cornerstone tackles for the next decade and could move carey inside to guard where i think he'd be an all pro.

2) andre smith- i think he could play right tackle but i think he'd be a perennial all pro at offensive guard. just what the doctor ordered inside for our offense.

3) hakeem nicks- the #1 wr this offense desperately needs. anquan boldin part 2.

1) Hakim Nicks- I am not usually in favor of drafting wideouts but this guy is a freak, a freak I tell you!!!
2)Alex Mack- I think we're set at G when Thomas comes back, then Satele could slide to guard to add depth.
3)Larry English- I'm excited abput Cam Wake but i've never seen him rush an NFL calibur Tackle, English is built to play a 3-4 OLB

Finally someone else sees it, this guy(Nicks) runs exactly like Boldin but he's faster and has better ball skills, he's a steal with the 25th pick and if he's there at 44 you have to pull the trigger

1) Alex Mack - We need a center so that we can run up the middle and pound the opposing D with our running. Alex Mack will also solidify our O-Line for years to come.

2.) Hakeem Nicks - Not a big fan of taking a WR in the first round but if we don't pick up Ramses Barden then I believe Hakeem Nicks would be a great fit in Miami's offense.

3.) Sean Smith - I have a feeling this guy will have his stock soar during the combine. If he is projected as a 1st round pick then I don't believe it would be a reach to go for him. We need secondary help and I have a feeling he could be a playmaker.

1) larry english 2) hakeem nicks 3) clint sintim. If i ahd to guess based on availablity of the 3, it will end up being sintim and the giants may give us there first and second rd pick to take him off our hands. then we can take alex mack or duke robinson with their pick

After watching some more games of Louis Delmas, I have a few too many questions about him in coverage to be comfortable with him at #25 anymore. I was big on the guy and I still think he might be the best safety in the class, but I haven't liked some of what I've seen.

Guys that I'm very confident in include the guys listed in my sig. Hakeem Nicks, I'm very confident will be a solid pro. I'm also confident in Jarron Gilbert's physical ability and technique. Larry English I see as another Joey Porter. Clint Sintim would be able to fit right into this defense and make plays, be a very solid football player. Peria Jerry looks to my eyes to be the most 'unblockable' DT in the draft. Rey Maualuga would just bring a physical force and physical presence that I really like.

There are more players that I am very confident in, but not all of them fit right into the team structure.

out of those guys i would say:

1) larry english - don't know enough about wake yet to slot him in as a starter. we need consistent pass rush from either side for the 3-4 to work as it should.

2) hakeem nicks - i think he's the second best WR in the draft behind crabtree. could be that true #1 we've been lacking. we'll see what happens with boldin.

3) andre smith - i see him going in the top 10, but that's just me. IMO he's the best tackle in the draft. i would rather wait til the later rounds to pick o lineman but the carey situation is still up in there so who knows.

i want an OLB or anquan with that pick, but there's a lot of time before the next draft.

so does that mean you're seeing delmas as more a strong safety??? that's what i had pegged him for b4 you had informed me he had played some corner. i think he's from what i've seen late in his help coverage responsibilities when in the deep middle. takes too long i guess in read and diagnosis to react. i don't see the same things with rashod johnson.

English as JP, thats a big complement. do you like english over sintim, i do from the film ive seen

i think we wind up trading the pick so we could pick up another 2nd rounder, i think we conserve all the money for free agency

we pick 25, thats not going to break the bank. and parcells teams rarely build through FA, as do most good teams. build through the draft.

The guy who I think will give the best value at 25 is Peria Jerry. I honestly think is a a top 10 talent and would be a starter from day 1.

I also like Hakeem Nicks and Duke Robinson, as well as Alex Mack
