and last weeks game as well... Penny made some mistakes and there was some dropped balls but he kept the game in our grasp offensively till the 4th... the D couldn't come up with the stop....

It's funny some of the best QBing we've had in years and people are still finding ways to blame the QB for losses blaming arm strength etc. This has nothing to do with Penny not completing deep balls to Bess etc or his arm strength, Penny can throw the deep balls and did show that at times in NY... he does struggle with the deeper out routes however is a smart enough QB to manage his game around that

Blame our front 7 and secondary, these guys didn't come through when needed the last 2 weeks

Yes, Penny is the king of dink and donk and keep those completion % high. This is what most fans agreeed was the best for the Fins.

Yep and the defense has been letting us down for years now. Even when they were considered a dominate defense in the past they would let us down when it mattered most. They have never been mentally tough enough.

agreed, we need a few more guys like Porter on D that will come through when we need a big play (I know he had an off year last year but different scheme and injuries contributed) he is a clutch player on D

Yep, to be a good defensive team you have to have good players, but you also have to have a certain type of mentality like the Ravens have had or the Titans have now. The Dolphins have never had that. Just look at the Cowboys, they have some good players on defense but don't play with that type of mentality either. Thats why they struggle. You either have it or you don't.

Killer B's or the steel curtain, Tampa's D and Baltimores D --- definiitely know what you mean by that mentality... coaches need to instill that mentality with their players

They scored 20 points on us, so what. Penny is just as much to blame for this loss as the D.

Exactly, just look at the Steelers the last few years. They have had players come and go off their defense, but have always had a good defense because they have that mentality. They can plug guys in and perform well because they have a system in place that allows them to be successful.

Ya and I bet you blame Pennington last week too when the defense let the Texans score right at the end and got lit up most of that game too. Ya my bad, that was Pennington's fault. Shame on me. Pennington was the one that let McGahee run all over them today and made Flacco look great.

Yes, the D did break down as a unit. It is fundamentally sound unit, until the 4th quarter. From JJ's time here up til '06 season we depended on our D to bail out the Offense when it was mediocre only to finally crack in the most pivotal games. Now our D has to get more help from the offense - it can't carry anything on its own. Not enough running game and a bad D from Chaddy and there you go. As far as our secondary outside of Will Allen and Yeremiah Bell I don't trust it and if the FO can pull some strings I would not mind the rest of it being blown up and bring in fresh blood for '09. Too late to do anything major now.

I think it was a team loss no doubt... but we got run over, the D didn't stop them on 3rd down and struggle to pressure the passer or cover in the secondary (which generally go hand in hand)....

Camarillo catches that TD that went through his hands, and some of the dropped passes on 3rd down were caught the outcome is different....

Point is Penny was one of the few players that helped put us in position to win, and he has done that in 5 of the 6 games we've played... people want to continue to bash him for his decision making and/or arm strength and the truth is neith really played a factor in the loss today (other than the pick) That return for a TD was a huge play however Penny was being mugged and trying to make something happened and it was one of the few mistakes he's made this year

Our D hasn't been fundamentally sound all year really, likely just the Charger game

No Pennington was the one who threw the pick 6, missed key throws all day, and has yet to pick up a 3rd and 10 in 6 freaking games. that's not the D's fault. I didn't say it was all his fault, but he shares big in this loss and the Houston loss. We were a stinking 2-10 in 3rd downs against Houston. What does the D have to do with that?

what key throws did he miss all day??

Bottom line with the Texans game is Bell knocking down that pass to AJ, then were talking about how great Penny is for bringing us back... 3rd down conversions also is a team effort, you can't blame all those on Penny
