Todd Mcshay just said on ESPN Radio V.Gholston is the most over rated player in this draft. He stated exactly what alot of us have said here that you can see flashes of talent but then you see 5 to 6 games (not plays but games) that he completely disappears. He said people are falling in love with his measureables and it's over shadowing his lack of impressive game film.
Now please tell me how a guy who's being hailed as the next great OLB disappears in college games, wouldn't he be eating up the competion night in and night out. I'll give him a game or two for great offensive game planning by the opposition but that's even stretching it a bit.
Todd's not the only one to say this, but my point is would you really want to draft a guy on measurables or game tape. This is one prospect I want nothing to do with, hopefully his disappearing act will be employed else where.

Arguments can be made for and against Gholston. After studying him on film, I think he is a bit of an overrated player who disappears from games far too often. However, recent workout times have sent his draft stock soaring, and I hear from reliable sources that the organization is infatuated with him.

You forgot that...and you also forgot that he has Gholston going to the Jets at 6...WOW...what a drop off...LOL.

And he said...bit of an over-rated player...you wrote the most over-rated player...a far bit from the truth..shame on you.

Of course everything is just opinion.

Well keep in mind there are people in these forums who would hype up Pee Wee Herman as the next Lawrence Taylor if Utube had a highlight of him.

Gholston is way overrated. If you look at his stats they are not that impressive compared to CLongs. Yes his measurables are great but a gym rat is not always a superstar on the feild ask MIKE MAMULA. I would never spend that much money on a guy that comes to play half the game. I personally have Quinten Groves over Gholston

I'd take Groves over Long and Gholston.

I can only quote what I remembered and it wasn't written down anywhere for me to be exact. I'm sorry if I wasn't spot on but I think you still get the overall point of the thread.
It's not #1 to #6 that's the drop off, it's that because Gholston is being overhyped by his workout numbers that at #6 it's still a reach and some guys here want us to take him first overall.

I found it....go to ESPN...see McShay's draft...for the time it's free...and like I stated...everything is pure opinion...some teams like C. Long...some like Gholston...some don't like either of them.

Your right it is just an opinion everyone's got one, I just can't get on board with a guy that plays when he wants. I'm a J.Long believer for this team but I know there's as good a chance that we go defense and if so I want a guy that plays every down as if it were his last.

Todd MaShay is an analysts and like of these so called "experts" they are seen as people who know absolutely everything there is to know about every draft pick which is so far from the truth it's not even funny. Two weeks ago everyone was about V.Gholston and now he's overrated? I think he's a beast and he's going to do just fine in the NFL. Hopefully if he's seen as overrated he will fall out of the 1st round so we can take him late in the 2nd.

im sorry, i would take there opinions over anyone on here. they have tapes and footage that they study that we cant. they know what to look for in college players that translates into success in the NFL, granted a lot of time they are a little bit of but most of the times, they know what they are talking about. Plus i think todd McShay is the best analysis over Kiper, and Mayock.

The thing that they get wrong is who is going to draft whom and where, everyone knows it's a crap shoot. When a player gets picked at a position in the draft no ones expects it causes a domino effect to changing alot of draft boards.
One annoying thing about the draft is afterwards when people look back and state we should have taken player x here because player y could have been had with our next pick, this of course is hind sight and if you would have changed your pick the domino effect takes place and you never know who would have been taken later.
