This could just be my opinion, but I think that the Dolphins have more positives than negatives going for them. Last year we went 4-12. Since then the Dolphins have completely renovated there coaching staff. Every coach that was added to the roster is one of the best in their respective fields. An ageing and patched defense has been given young fresh legs and depth at the LB and DB positions. If not for injury we would be mush deeper in the secondary, but the new guys are stepping up to the challenge. Saban did more with this draft then the last three combined. All of the players drafted are poised to make an immediate impact. The offence is also much improved. We have the right guys at the O line position to do the job; they just have to start working together. Coach Houck will have them playing like a unit sooner than later. The running back situation couldn’t be better. Teams will have their hands full with both Ricky and Ronnie coming out of the backfield. Chambers, Mc Mike, Boston, Booker, Welker, Gilmore, what else do I have to say about our receivers. The QB situation will be settled soon. If whoever is picked to do the job can’t perform Sabin will change that next year. The 2006 draft should have the best QB class in years. So like I said the Dolphins have more positives than negatives going for them right now. With good coaching, and some consistent play from the Qb and O line the Dolphins could go 9-7 or better.

i agree. I think this team is moving into the right direction. I believe we have a lot of potential and could possibly squeak into the playoffs. However at the same time if we do not perform then we still have to be patient since this is basically a whole new team.

I agree with the exception of the oline. I haven't seen enough to be that optimistic in them. With that fixed QB won't be an issue.

A new team, with a whole new system, and yes to face reality, it may come to some of our favorite players, being long in the tooth before all the wheels are going full force ahead towards a championship.

But we're 0-3 in the preseason. How can anyone be positive.

Good post. I'm an optimist myself, and I agree with the positives.

Bro the pre-season is not about winning games, it's about evaluating, molding, and finding out exactly what you in players, and who works the best together. i would like a win, however I would rather make sure we keep the right players, and that the young players get as much time as possible to grow, and show what they have to offer to the coaches. Things will get better!:drinkers:

I like your good optomistic post. I agree with everything you say and hopefully if Saban finds any weaknesses during the season, he will address them through the draft.

The 0-3 remark was sarcasm. But unfortunately there are so many on this board who would mean that seriously that it's too easy to confuse.

Preseason means nothing.

I totally agree with you. Also with the bunch of 1 year contracts that were signed, this freedom, will give Nick the opportunity to keep who he feels can continue to contribute to the teams success!

It's too early to be negative about the team! yes there are areas that need improvement, but some of those things will come this year with time, and some of the other improvements will come next year with more depth, and a new quarterback, and players that will lay it on the line for the organization.

My bad, I forgot some new offensive linemen as well.

"All of the players drafted will make an immediate impact". As backups? Roth? Alabi? Wright? Vickerson?

roth is gonna be in the rotation. Alabi may very well be a great player by next year. Wright and Vickerson won't be immediate players, but if there both our starting DT's by 2007, then they were worth a 5th and 7th.

however, to have your first 4 draft picks to be immediate players is still VERY good. a lot of teams only use their 1st round pick (some, like miami last year, use none of them at all). the rest sit on the bench.

Same here. I think if we could get a pro bowl type center and a Phillip Rivers or somebody that is younger but ready to step up, I think we will be on our way for sure. All the problems of last year are defenitely behind us and it is not as bad as people have made it out to be.

Dan Marino and Dwight Stevenson would give us SB capability.
