To steal a line from Darius Rucker, the Dolphins make me cry.

In my heart of hearts, I really thought the team would find a way to sign Jarvis Landry. That one really hurts. Going into the season Jay Ajayi and Landry were the two players I felt best about as building blocks for the offense. I love physical players who exert their will on the opponent. Both of these guys have that.

I know some people will list all the Hall of Famers that were drafted in the 4th round, but honestly it's more likely Miami ends up with absolutely nothing in return for these guys.

I'm just left wondering what the plan is moving forward. This team is in salary cap hell and, unfortunately, has a roster that is mediocre at best. I'm not convinced the right people are in place to make the right moves.

It's a total rebuild and I now think the team drafts a quarterback, maybe moving up to get one. That's probably the only move that will help the fan base rebound.

I feel ya. The 2 guys with energy were Ajayi and Landry. No one else brings it.

I read an article that speculated the Landry trade was going to happen because Gase didn't like Jarvis. I don't know the truth but Gase doesn't want this reputation.

Gase also needs to win this year to show 2016 wasn't a fluke. If he doesn't and is ridding the team of people he doesn't like, we may have a new coach in 2019.

Fortunately Drake turned out to be a better RB (at least for us) than Ajayi.

Perhaps adding some receiving pieces (please, a TE) and spreading the ball around more without Jarvis will lead to an overall more productive offense and more points.

I don't know if it will, but I would be far from surprised if it did.

(And we're not in salary cap hell. We're already like $63 million under the cap next season, before the cap goes up again).

I feel you in regards to liking physical players. However, we are not in salary cap hell. In fact, we just opened up 16 million in cap space and can potentially sign 2 or 3 contributors with that money. We just got 4 years of Landry on a great deal. The nfl isn’t how it used to be. Players need to go when they are no longer a bargain. That being said, Landry had to go.

I was very impressed with Drake. He looks like a better all-around back than Ajayi. Still, would have been nice to pair the two or get more value in a trade.

I do think Grant could see more playing time and that has the potential to be good. Agree with you on tight end. I'd take one real early in the draft, probably round two. Again, would feel better if the team was able to get some value for Landry. Personally, I would have found a way to keep him.

We'll see where this goes.

I’m not sure which direction this team is taking. I’m not even sure they know.

The NFL and teams, are first and foremost a business enterprise, and at times that can make for cold and calculating decisions.

That said, I was absolutely gutted losing Jarvis Landry. To me, Landry personified many of the fundamental attributes that you want in a football player: guts, toughness, a killer instinct, raw passion, reliable hands, and a tireless work ethic. To compound matters further, the compensation for losing Landry was laughable. I don’t see how anyone can defend that compensation.

You will be missed Jarvis, and godspeed. I wish him well, so long as it’s not against the Dolphins. I have a feeling he will do well in Cleveland, provided they get decent QB play.

Some will say he DID well in Miami without good QB play

Drake better than Jay... when has Drake carried us, like Jay. Should have keep both.

:wall What's crazy (sad really) is that i believe some people on this forum might literally of cried in the last 24 hours. To quote another more positive song" The sun will come out tomorrow" It's gonna be ok.

There'd have to be some serious emotional issues for a grown man to cry over a player leaving his favorite team.

I won't cry but to be honest im really pissed off. If this doesn't lighten the eyes of Ross to dump T-Bum after this soon to be disgusting 2-14 Season. Then this franchise is going no where. I fly to Miami every year with my kids to see a game. I show my Dedication. Ross should to.

I feel you brother!!! This one stings. But be careful wishing about a trade up to get a QB. Tannenbaum isn’t the guy to be running point on any type of trade. Because a trade up may cost Miami picks in 2019? And not just picks but a 1st round pick, to boot? The league knows Tannenbaums “MO”; he over pays!!l as for Landry, I’m sad today seeing how it was handled. But I remain confident Gase will get the ship righted. I’m in the minority about Carroo and believe he’ll step up. I admit I’m partial to Carroo, because I have a friend who is a friend of his and his family. I just hope we fans don’t get our hearts broken any further, if the price Tannenbaum pays for a trade up, cost Miami a 2019 1st and 3rd picks. 2019 is a draft loaded with all types of Defensive Linemen, in a year Miami will have the ability to rid themselves of the Enormous cap burden of Suh’s conteact.

Since the time he was given full-time duties. The error was in not giving him more carries in Weeks 9-12.
