If we (as most are suggesting) do end up trading JT will it our effect our #1 selection if he's not traded before the start of the draft. We wouldn't know for sure if anyone will pony up enough to make it worth it (a 3rd won't do). So do you still draft C.Long/V.Gholston and take that chance, if I'm another team and see that I'd low ball you because I'd think you don't have a choice. Or do we take J.Long and then if nothing comes up we just don't need to draft an OLB. I wonder how much of this will influence which direction we go in the draft.

I don't think you'd go wrong drafting either Chris or Jake Long. I also think we should get Chris Long whether we keep JT or not. I think JT's presence would be pivotal in bringing along either Chris Long or Gholston. And remember we're the ones in the position of power with the # 1 pick. We don't have to accept anything that isn't equitable or feasible for JT.

I don't think it will effect it at all, or at least not all that much. I think they're going to be more concerned with what choice gives the Dolphins the most long-term benefit, rather than which one gives them the best chance to win THIS year.
