The education of John Beck begins

The latest news on Daunte Culpepper is ...

OK, just kidding.

Actually I was at Dolphins camp today and it was interesting to see the exchange between Trent Green and John Beck today as they came off the field.

Green, grinning ear-to-ear, asked Beck about a throw that resulted in an interception during the team period of the practice.

Wow you either have some great ears or a ver vivid imagination. Its nice to hear that he has accuracy, but if he can't read a defense that won't matter to much.

I didnt write it... Armando Salguero from the Miami Herald did...

Dont worry about the reading the defense part. The play was disguised... Green knew exactly what Beck thought he saw... and probably continued to tell him how to recognize such a play.

Rookies are going to make mistakes like that. I'm just glad we got Green to help mentor him...

I am glad he has turned into the mentor we all wanted him to be. Don Strock and Dan Marino are still best friends to this day. Hopefully they can develope a special bond.

Well I've got to say I wasn't thrilled with the addition of Green because of his age and previous injury, but I do feel better seeing Green giving Beck his insight rather then Daunte. We do seem to have a good situation at all three QB positions for a change.

I second that....

I became impressed with Beck after reading about his "calling audibles" in practice. Kid seems gutsy and not afraid of a challenge. I'm liking him already.

"Paging Mr. Ginn, Jr., please report to camp."

I can't wait to see John in 1 or 2 preseason games. Unless Green gets hurt we won't see him again until 2008.

I'm pretty sure we will see Beck in all of the preseason games, but I hope he is competes for the starting gig next season.

I really like what I'm hearing about Beck, and the way he's approaching the QB position at this level. He sounds like a winner, and someone who will take the challeges he'll be facing head on. To be quite honest, I can hardly wait for Beck to get his chance to start for us. He should be ready by the 2008 season.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!!
