Unless you build an OL modeled after Washington's Hogs of yesteryear the pocket passer is becoming extinct. Either you can join the movement or you can be left behind to rot!!!
well we will be rotting for the next two years, at least.Unless you build an OL modeled after Washington's Hogs of yesteryear the pocket passer is becoming extinct. Either you can join the movement or you can be left behind to rot!!!
I agree. Our “next” QB must be dual threat but it must be one with elite traits as a passer. Don’t want to make the Justin Fields/Anthony Richardson mistake, and I think that’s what some team is going to do with Jalen Milroe.
If things go left quick in 2025 I’ve got my eye on Nico Iamaleava…..
Totally agree, defenses can’t play defense anymore as some of the mobile QB’s are bigger than RB’s but they are not allowed to tackle them.If that is true, it is a great shame, but a product of ridiculous rules. QBs can pass, or run around, but if they stay in the pocket and you hit them it is a penalty and if they run out of the pocket and you touch them it is a penalty. No wonder it has become unbalanced.
It should be simple - as a QB the moment you run you are a runner and you get hit. No more slide rule. If you can't take the hits, don't run.The defences would have half a chance. Right now it is impossible to defend a dual threat QB.
So Tua never got hit scrambling this year? And Josh Allen never takes hits either? Hurts didn't miss 2 games late in the year for a concussion after scrambling? But I think that is the point. The reason it did not work in the Cunningham days is that defences beat him down and made him pay for all the running around. They can't do that now. The OL hold on every play and don't get called, and the QB can run around without ever being hit.
