A weekly look at what the Miami Dolphins must fix:

After a solid start, the Dolphins' pass protection has suddenly dropped to 2013 levels the past two games. That is a major concern as the Dolphins (4-3) prepare to face the San Diego Chargers (5-3) on Sunday in a big game for both teams.

The Dolphins' offensive line allowed seven sacks in victories over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears. Miami's offensive line allowed only 10 quarterback sacks on Ryan Tannehill in the first five games.

Don't agree with Walker here. Pouncey can be better than average or slightly above average at RG...it's his natural position. He can be a pro bowl RG and his struggles would be the same whether he was playing RG or C...it's not a function of the position its more a function of him not using proper technique right now. This is basically his preseason...he's only played three games.

The line has looked worse since Pouncey has been back. The experiment is over. Lets put Pouncey back at center and Satele/Thomas/Smith at both left and right guard. Colledge is probably not going to work either...

Whatever. We're on pace for 39 sacks which is slightly above average, can you really ask for anything better when you had to replace the entire o-line?

Yup. We got to fix the pocket fast. Even if we get to the playoffs, we arent going to get very far with this current protection.

What if Pouncey is the issue? What if adding him threw off the chemistry of the O-line? What if his line calls at Center last year were a major reason for Tannehill getting sacked 58 times? Then what?

Just throwing that out there.

I said it after last week's game and I'll say it again. You can call G Pouncey's natural position all you want, in the NFL, he's an elite center.

To update our wager on total pressures allowed by PFF stats. Last year, we allowed 51 sacks, 42 hits, and 131 hurries. So far this year, we have allowed 13 sacks, 17 hits, and 37 hurries. Barring a complete melt down, I have no shot. So, I'll just send you the $5,000 and look to get even or, even worse on another bet.

* For others reading, PFF gives stats on pressures allowed by players, and not by the team on blitzes, etc.

lol...keep the money. I didn't even remember the bet until you said something. I think most on here knew we had O-lineman that didn't fit the scheme and that was the major issue with the O-line last year. Hickey did a nice job getting some guys in here that were more athletic and can carry out the technique needed for the ZBS. Couldn't have had more square pegs in round holes then last year if you had bought Lincoln logs to make lego's straighter.

I never thought Pouncey was any good. I thought he was a major reason for our flawed run game last year and this year he's a big part of run stops, his run and pass protection sucks plus he's goes out drinking all night and he's basically the opposite of Wake. Poor character and he should be out on the street after he bombs on his next team. Pouncey pro bowl center yaa right. I never saw it with the way he gets pushed back into the QB every play.

Funny thing is after Kubiak got fired I posted on here we needed to go get Benton to be the O-line coach...I was super excited when we signed him on the staff...and even more excited when we fired Turner a week later lol.

Now we just need to get Pouncey on the same page as the rest of the O-line. Pouncey is an elite athlete, I just worry about his intelligence. Seems to be a consistent theme with players coached at Florida under Urban Meyer...those guys are dumb as rocks.

Pouncey looked better last Sunday, especially on the run with James. I expect he is gonna help James get through the rest of this season well.
