I'm sure everybody watched Rodgers the past few weeks destroy d-lines with cadence, getting them to jump offsides, Rodgers notices and throws it down the field, quite often for not just big yardage but long TDs. It should be totally obvious as to why this is so valuable for an offense: its a free opportunity for Rodgers to pad his yards per attempt numbers.

In the Bills game we got them to jump offsides one time and ran a draw. WTF? In fact, we run quite often after getting them to jump, and I don't recall us ever taking the shot down the field.

Its mind-boggling to me that between Philbin, Lazor and Tannehill that one of them doesn't pipe up with: shouldn't we throw after getting them to jump on a hard count?

Our QB runs whatever Lazor tells him to run. They don't adjust to the conditions in front of them.

Ours was already a called run. Also out qb has extremely low situational awareness.
In the situation you are mentioning it was gong to be a run and the ball was about to be snapped, don't blame him there

Tannehill can't audible no quick hot routes. How do you fly when your chained to the ground. Lazor says he can't audible but there are built in options bull I call you never see bubble routes or quick slants on runs no wr looks for ball. Smoke and mirrors like Eagles ours was just easier to figure out.

Exactly...how else do you explain using all the play clock when you're behind by 3 TD's

Do you think Lazor tells him when to use the hard count too? I know you want the free 5 yards as often as you can get it but unless you're getting them to jump every other play I would be saving hard counts for passing plays only.

To be fair, when a running play is called, we can not adjust once the ball has been snapped.

When it is a passing play however, as most of our plays are, the QB has to have the ability to see the offsides and automatically look to take a deep shot down the field. The only time he should not do this is if it is a 3rd down and the 5 yard penalty will not be enough for a first down. Well, perhaps if the 5 yard penalty gives us a 3rd and 1 he can take the freeroll, but if it makes it 3rd and anything beyond 2, he should look to try and convert the 1st down. Anything on 1st or 2nd down however, the QB should automatically look to make a big play down the field. Tannehill almost never does this. I can not recall him ever doing it. Perhaps he has and I do not remember, but I don't know. I just know I see us throw it short a lot when it is a free play. It is unacceptable. If anything, Tannehill could use the practice of throwing one long in that situation.

I would not do that because it would telegraph that a passing play has been called whenever the hard count is used. Besides, if it is 2nd or 3rd and less than 5 yards to go, even if you have called a running play, drawing the opponent offsides would be a 1st down.

The fact that they were huddling up in the second half, down by 27, was infuriating. They were playing as if they had a lead to protect.

Again, nothing he can do in this case. A run play was called and it was too late to change t the ball was snapped. Receivers are blocking not running downfield and line is run blocking.
So, while it may be correct Lazor doesn't let him change the play. That doesn't later in this case.

On another note since someone asked, monk don't recall him along a shot down field in his whole career in a free play.
One because he has zero awareness and two bc the passing plays called don't have a receiver going deep it's all dink and dunk crossers. The best at available is a 12 yard catch and run usually

I get your point but if the draw was called the WRs weren't going to run routes. It wouldn't be possible to go deep since they wouldn't know the defense was offsides until literally a second before the snap.

I don't recall ever seeing the Packers get people to jump then running, not in recent times anyway. Rodgers gets pissed if he's forced to throw it only 15 yards.

The thing is if defenders were smart they would not try to "correct their mistake." If you get caught jumping just keep going and eat the 5 yard penalty. You might even get a shot in on the QB.

I wouldnt hard count to much with our ol... We will fool our players more often than the opposing DL...

While we are at it just get Tannehill to yell Omaha a bunch works for manning
