I know its good when calls go your way like yesterday but If I was a Tampa fan I would be as pissed as their coach. This new rule about having to contain the football even after you hit the ground is stupid! At what point does the play end. Do you have to lay there on the ground and dry hump the ball before they call it a catch. I just think its a really stupid rule. I'm still glad we got the call (lol) but it was a stupid call.

They got it right. The receiver never established possession and the ball never hit the ground. If they had ruled it anything else I would have been pissed at the refs for screwing it up, again.

If it was a fumble call I would agree with you, But it was an interception.......Idiot

how many of these threads do we need? if you would have have searched , you would have read the nfl ruling on the play in other similar threads. why cant people like you be happy about it, geez. how many bad calls have we got this year. why dont whine about those. something more constructive

If the refs reviewed the call and still felt it was a fumble/int, then it WAS a fumble/int. I just felt JT deserved his TD.

according to the intricacies of the "going to the ground" rule on receptions, they technically got it right. Just wish they had let the play continue so Taylor could have had the TD. Although, it looked like the TB player let JT run past when he heard the whistle....*

I dont care about the ruling. its a new rule this year. if they called that against us, everyone of you guys on this thread would be the first to cry about it today.

the thng is they didnt so why are you talking about it. if the bucs had got that catch yesterday i would be pissed but that didnt happen. so its monday and im a fins fan and im excited not sad like you because the bucs didnt get a lucky break.

its pretty simple , he never had complete control of the ball and the ball never touched the ground and it landed in JTs palms. connect the dots

From the replays i saw it looked like he had control of the ball, two feet down, an arm down, an elbow down, a hip down. The "ball" never touched the ground indeed, but i don't see why that is relevant? If anything it should be ruled a fumble since he did establish possession. However i still think he was down by contact.

It's not a new rule. And about your earlier question about when the play ends, it ends when the player stops moving on the ground or gets up. He was rolling over when the ball came out = not complete.
