...the more leverage we have against KC to give up Green. His recovery is sealing his own fate (and hopefully giving us some trade value). That just popped into my head, poor guy.

i don't get it,,they healthier he is the closer he is in becoming our QB this year

Im pretty drunk right now, but i know what he is talking about. The healthier C pep gets, the less likely we need green. SO if we dont need green as bad, KC will take less and less. They think we need him badly so kc wants a second rounder. If we dont need him as much theyll take less. Sorry If i messed up what he is trying to say but...im traaaaashed so imma drink one for evry fin fan out there...I love u guys and the fins...What ever happens heappens...We'll be fine and cam cam and randy are doing a great job of building a young team...THe fins are loooking bright for years to come..enjoy guys relax everybody..everything happens for a reason

Well, Cam seems pretty much sold on Green, and I doubt they are going to carry both.

I don't know about that...he doesn't seem to worried that this deal has dragged on for..what 2 months now ?? Cam hasn't give the impression that he's too worried right now at all...

The timing of Cpep's recovery is the real issue here and it must be looking like he'll be ready to compete soon. Indicates to me that Cam is ok with what we have if a reasonable resolution can't be had with KC....

All along I have thought they should give cpep a chance - the bottom line is his health - you would think that the fins Dr.'s would have a handle on this but then again they were the same ones that said he was healthy in the first place!

Healthy cpep is better then a healthy Green in MOP

:boohoo: i just want to have the same qb start 2 years in a row is that to much to ask

Yes and no. Like the other guys said a healthy Culpepper could mean he starts for us, but you are right in saying that it would give us more leverage. We don't look as desperate
that way.

Cam doesn't seem worried. Randy doesn't seem worried. Cpep doesn't even seem too worried about where he'll be playing. The only person worried is Green. He's trying to force the hand of KC and get Miami to come up from a 6th rounder because he wants to ensure he'll be in Miami, and soon.

I say forget about Green. KC had their chance, he's their problem now. And I don't think KC will release him at the end of the month. They'll probably keep him until the last cut before the season so they ruin his year, and in KC's thought process, Miami's. Let's go into the season with Culpepper, Lemon, and Beck.

Think guy is drunk and made more sense than 90% of the posts on this issue. Good thoughts man.

I don't know how anybody can say Cam is 'sold' on Cpep or Green. The same people said he was 'sold' on Quinn. I understand there's a little bit of guessing in all our posts and opinions. It seems to me Cam is very good at looking at the big picture of a situation, and he's very good at not saying too much too soon. He let the whole world think we were sweating Quinn! I don't think I would want to play poker with 'ole CamCam!

Judging from his statements about our QB.

#1 - Even if we get Green, he's not going to get the starting spot just handed to him at the door because.....

#2 - The position will go to the best player AFTER a competition and evaluation.

#3 - He's warming up the possibility of Daunte actually being healthy enough to be evaluated in time, and he's gonna wait until that time to comment at depth.

Yes I'm a Daunter supporter. He's gone through alot for this team and shouldn't be hated by any fan. I know we didn't win with him but looking at the whole situation, we likely wouldn't have been much better no matter who was back there. I realize I'm gonna get alot of his stats spit at me, so I want to put one stat out there that I haven't seen mentioned in the zillions of posts about him. Last year with a weak knee and a weaker o-line he RAN for a touchtown too. It came in in a 13-10 WIN against Tenn. Granted, it was a short run, and it was his only win with us. But that along with everything else he's done shows me he's got heart and determination to be the best and win.

I understand the arguements for Green (familiar with offense, mentor to Beck, etc.) but I just don't think he would be the short or long term answer to this QB problem. Too much drama first of all, talk about riffs in the locker room! The whole team sees Cpep put his heart and soul into coming back only to have some old, ****y guy be given the job! (In my opinion, the way he is handling this situation is very ****y and unprofessional. And I think everyone will admit the man is old!)

I don't hate Green, and if he comes to town and WINS the position then I'll be happy with that. I just don't think we need him. If Beck is as smart and mature as everyone says he is, he doens't need to have a QB (Green) that has played with the most ideal situation for the majority of his career to learn from.

I have been a big supporter of Daunte since day one and will continue to do so, however I would also hope and pray that the best player gets the job. I have no problem brining in Green and having 5 QB's in camp. Our biggest problem...other then offensive schemes, has been the QB position. I'm all for a comeptition. I hope everyone gets a shot to prove themselves. Anytime you do this, you make the players earn the right to play the position.

The player that wants it the most should win it.....that's the player I want to be the QB. If you bring in Green and you already have Culpepper, that's some pretty stiff competition alone, now add some youth with desire and a hunger to win the job and you have a battle on your hands. Whomever comes away with this job, will have had to beat some damn good QB's in order to secure the position, as a coach and a fan that's everything you could hope for. All I can say is, good luck to all of them, and may the best man win.

GOTTA YA! drink one with ya! Cpep is better! IMO just playing the odds.

if green is released we will have green, cpep, lemon, and beck to all battle it out in training camp.

No the healthier he gets, the easier he is too trade. Hurt=no trade value.
