Well I have seen this mentioned a few times today so it needs to be put to rest. Simply because it is not true.
By the way guys, come over to my house and Let me separate your shoulder and see how you throw the football against Ohio state, or in any division 1 football game under center.. I was a damn good wrestler and I can snap and separate your shoulder in less than 2 seconds.. So the invitation is open j/k
It's funny when people bring up facts such as Henne's total numbers decreasing every year, but they TOTALLY OVERLOOK the facts as to why that happened.. such as Henne having alot less pass attempts in 2006 compared to 2005. (more on that later, let's go back to last year's injury).
If Marino had a SEPARATED SHOULDER ON HIS THROWING ARM and it clearly showed him favoring it on the field, he would get your sympathy to have him rest for a few games...
Not to compare Marino to Henne here, and I hope you guys are mature enough to get that, but its a SEPARATED SHOULDER on your throwing arm as a QB.. An injury such as that is not an excuse..
And another example of the myopic thinking that goes on here on this board , and showing how people just overlook the obvious-- is Henne had 55 less passing attempts in 2006 due to Michigan's offense.. However the difference in yards was only 18 yards.. And he threw only one less TD while throwing 55 fewer passes..
Henne had about the same amount of yards and TD's in 2006 but with only 323 pass attempts compared to 382 pass attempts the year before in 2005
So Henne did play better in 2006 than he did in 2005.. That is a fact.. To say he didn't is overlooking the obvious.. He obviously didn't play better last season because he had something called a separated shoulder. Duh.. But he certainly played better in 2006 compared to 2005.. And if not for the injury, would have played even better this year-- we saw how he played against Florida in the Bowl game after he was healed scoring 45 pts and getting the game MVP award.
Just like he would have won the MVP award against Texas in the Rose Bowl game.. He threw up 37 points on the board with 4 TD's and zero INT's tying a Rose Bowl record for QB's.. If not for Michigan's defense giving up a score in the last 2 seconds, he is the MVP of that Bowl game as well.
