Saw this article today on Yahoo about Jim Harbaugh. It's caption read "Evidently, name-brand 49ers are fed up with their coach. With 36 wins in 3 years, does it really matter?"

Some of the info is the following:

"One source with inside knowledge of the team says that Harbaugh's act has worn thin in the locker room, particularly among some key 'face of the 49ers' type players," Killion wrote.
High-strung football coach rubs people the wrong way ... stop the presses.

This has been a theme since the beginning of football. It's not a big surprise. It might be a problem for the 49ers only if they let it be (and they already are in the process of that). If they decide the comfort of the players and front office is more important than winning, Harbaugh will eventually move on. Plenty of coaches get along with players. Norv Turner would fit that role marvelously.

But first, let's consider a few things. San Francisco was a nightmare before Harbaugh arrived. Harbaugh came in and the 49ers instantly became one of the best teams in the NFL. Harbaugh is 36-11-1 the last three years and has gone to the NFC title game each season, with one Super Bowl appearance. He has put together that record, which is phenomenal in the parity-driven NFL, changing quarterbacks about halfway through. Any list of best NFL coaches has Harbaugh very high on it, or it's worthless. He has been tremendous. The 49ers hit a grand slam when they hired him.

It isn't a huge surprise that winning cures all ills. But I don't think it's fair to ultimately give a coach who people dislike and ask who cares if he's a dick to people a pass even if he wins. I guess we'd all rather have a coach who is revered but a winner. The weird part? San Francisco has won a lot yet there's descent in the locker room? How is that even a thing?

The same way Saban was hated within the Dolphins organization when he was here except Saban was not a winner for us and a complete liar.

can't agree. saban and harbaugh are apples and oranges, even if you only compare two years of their coaching.

Not if you compare the way they are both hated within their organizations for being jerks.

I will laugh my a** off when the 49ers get rid of Harbaugh and subsequently have a decade of 4-14, 5-11 type seasons. 49ers weren't s**t until he got there!

No matter how hot she is, someone, somewhere, is fed up with her bull****.

True.. but what happens when 6 months go by. Do you stay single and keep trying to get the equivalent of the gold you had, or bang the fat chick?

It's all in your persepective. While the hot chick was a killer ****, she also took a ball bat to your car,
boiled your rabbit, set your cell phone on fire, and liked to cut herself, and other people.
She also pulled a gun on you, called your mom and told her about your porn interests....etc.

The next chick may not be as good a ****, but you also don't have to worry about waking up with
your junk cut off.

There's a success to PITA ratio for everything. It's going to intersect at some point.

If Harbaugh was fired by the 9ers right now, i'd be calling for Ross to fire Philbin and bring Jim in that very moment.

Coughlin is a good example of this. Players can't stand him, but when he's winning, everything is great. However, when he starts off slow (per usual) or has a horrible season like last year, the **** hits the fan every time. If you are going to be that kind of coach, which I have no problem with, you better win, because you get far less leeway.

Ross would be calling him in a nano second. Philbin has not done anything. Harbaugh is a winner, Philbin is thoughtful.
