Whether you think we should have added 10 more offensive linemen to the team is irrelevant. The guys we have are going to get better if they have any work ethic at all.

Here are some things Nick Saban and Hudson Houck have instituted this offseason that haven't been going on in the past:

*The offensive line has their own group strength coach now. The linemen have been working with this coach for the past two months on their strength, conditioning, and techniques of transferring their strength from the legs through the hips.

*Tom Davis, the assistant OL coach, has been working with the linemen on an individual basis, working on their technique. Some of the linemen feel that this is the first legitimate coaching they have had since they've been in Miami.

Tony Wise did these young linemen an incredible disservice over the last two years. First, he did not work with the young linemen. He was a poor communicator with the young guys, and the only individual work they got was when Todd Perry and Tim Ruddy stayed after practice to work with them and help them get the blocking assignments down. Last year, Jeff Dellenbach spent most of the time working with the young guys.

That has all changed. There is finally some structure, and there is finally some instruction going on.

I'm pretty pleased with our current situation. I'm confident that we have enough depth to post an adequate line come regular season but I STILL am all for signing Ben Wilkerson.

You mean actual coaching? At an NFL level? How novel an approach .... Brilliant !!!

Sorry , love the adds , prefer other beer though.

Having Ronnie Brown won't hurt either ....his line will block HARD for him .... I don't think anyone on Miami won't play hard from now on.

The draft choices all have that in common .

We will be a much more physical foorball team , on both sides of the ball. Olineman love being physical ..... and it will show.

It's almost unbelievable that any HC would allow the situation you describe that took place here the last few years to ever take place on a modern NFL team.

The more time passes the more it becomes clear just how over his head Wanny was.

I look for great strides from our OL, GREAT news thx for sharing KB.

Unreal. It makes you wonder what the hell was going on under Wannstedt and his best pal, Tony Wise.

I have a feeling that is was Wise who insisted that Wanny draft Whitley, McKinney, Smith and Carey. And yet he didn't find it important enough to be a good communicator.

The only thing is that we have two or three that need the proverbial kick in the butt, or else, they will settle for doing just enough.

No wonder why the line stunk last year. I knew it wasnt just based on the players alone. I cant wait for the players to break out and get revenge sort of speak.

I am astounded that the damn stadium is still upright in the wake of the Wanny regime's trail of wreckage...

Good read KB...kind of disturbing at the same time.

And it is apparent to me that Saban echoes your feeling to some degree.

Well then time to kick a few in the butt . No really .... this is not kindergarten , results actually matter. If anyone doubts the difference a coach can and should make , then they have not been lucky enough to be coached by qualified , productive and determined coaches.

Miami has a great staff..... and the beginnings of a great organization.

Saban understands the plan here....he reiterated in his address after the draft.

Don't reinvent the wheel , but use it... Miami was doing too many things wrong, almost like trying to make this roll with a square wheel.

We are being led again..... and it shows and will show in EVERY thing we do.
