Alright, Ive got 2 points to make in this thread, one is on the Jaguars, and the other is on Jason Allen.

1. The Jags are totally lame, I have a friend who is a Jags fan who was runnin his mouth to me after the game. Am I the only one who noticed that most of their starters played the entire first half? Meanwhile our starting qb had one series. I hope the Jaguars starting roster feels good about themselves after beating up on our 3rd team defense... And didn't even see the tip of our offense's iceberg.

2. Jason Allen better be really good, we passed on some serious players to take him. I don't know if anyone else saw the pick that Antonio Cromartie had against the Packers, but damn, that was incredible. The guy is an unbelievable athletic talent, and he seems to fit the kind of player that Saban likes. We passed on a lock down corner, a starting caliber LT in Winston Justice, a couple of huge upside recievers, an awesome pass rusher in Manny Lawson, and a couple of huge interior lineman. I have faith in the Jason Allen pick, I think it will pan out, but it would be a shame if passing on a guy like Cromartie comes back to bite us.

yeah..the Jags had QB Garrad in the game until the beginning of the 4TH QUARTER...i mean..come on..hes a backup QB to Leftwich..Del Rio mustve had feel good about himself and his team..cowards..

We'll see J-ville again on DEC.3

With our 1st stringers we totally owned the ***s, so I'm not worried at all.

As for J.Allen, that's what happens when you hold out. I can't wait to see him play in the next game because he'll be more familiar with the defense.

GO PHINS!!!

Travis Daniels may turn out to be our best defensive back this season, which is not a good thing.

Jason Allen still needs alot of work done before he can make an impact on this defense.

I saw both Allens get burned alot... def. not a good sight.

you'll eat your words

Jason Allen might be young and raw but he is far and away the best athlete we have in the secondary this year. He has only been to what, four practices. Give him the rest of the preseason to catch up and acclimate. Once he shakes the rust off (I hope by the opener) He will lead the secondary in both picks and sacks. Just sit in a dark corner and watch him.:shakeno:

Did I not say he has alot of work done to make an impact on this team? That would be preseason right? So why would I eat my words? wtf..

Also, why can't Travis Daniels be our best DB? He had a great rookie season, and most DB's look up to him as the leader.

I had to suffer through watching the game on a Jags biased channel. Tony Boselli was doing play-by-play annoucing and I wanted to shoot myself in the head - he talked all the way through Joey's TD cuz he couldn't figure out how to draw the X's and O's on the teleprompter....but I digress

When they interviewed Leftwich, Del Rio, and Peterson during and after the game none of them were impressed that while both team's first string players were on the field they couldn't put together any long drives or stop the Fins from converting 3rd downs. I have no idea who blew the coverage on Leftwich's TD pass to Matt Jones but have faith Saban will drill them on it in practice this week.

I wouldnt worry about how Allen compares to some of the other people we passed on after 1 preseason game. As for Cromartie fitting Sabans style, I imagine Saban considered that and still took Allen so I'd think that makes Allen more of a Saban guy.

Why are some many folks so hard core against TD?

Seems like since he doesn't have top speed that he is doomed to be mediocre at best? WHY?

Saban loves the guy and he will prob be a starting CB on this team for years, get used to it. He isn't moving to Safety. He wasn't picked to play the Star position. He is a starting CB.

Also J. Allen wasn't suppose to be even in the game according to Saban earlier this week, so I doubt he is totally up to speed. Next PreSeason game should give us a better gauge on the Secondary.

Winston Justice struggled his 1st game. Let's compare Allen and Cromartie once the season starts.
There were no "huge upside receivers" in this draft(weak yr for WR's). Neither of them graded out as better prospects than Allen. Hagan is as good or better than either Holmes or Jackson.

December 3rd my fellow fin-fans...just wait until December 3rd when it's for real. I'm going to predict:

Fins - 31

Jags - 17
