i think miami is going to try and move up ahead of SF to select Groves. Jags, SD, are ahead of SF by a spot to 2 spots and its enough to make the move. i think miami is goin to put a smokescreen out that it will be for a QB but instead it will be for groves as he is the best pass rusher in this draft (pure pass rusher) and will a nice hole at OLB. expect the JT trade to be fulfilled by groves in some manner.

groves is faster then ware and bigger by about 10 lbs or so. I know they liekd gholston but having Long with Groves is far better then any other route we could have taken.

Ah, lets not get carried away, Groves is known as a "workout warrior", he's an excellent athlete but his motor is highly questionable, he's also not very stout at the point. He only posted 3 sacks as a senior, so "best pass rusher in the draft" is a label I have to doubt.

I see him as a boom or bust type of guy, not somebody you want to trade up for.

I doubt it. I think you move up to get a QB. They have premiums. Henne is what they are worried about IMO. I want Henne. Saw him on NFL Network last night.

nah, Mel said Groves is a mid-to late 2nd round pick and that Mayo is a top 15 pick who will probably fall to the 49ers. I don't believe Groves is a mid-to late 2nd round pick but I do believe Mayo will be drafted ahead of Groves by the 49ers if he's there.

I would tend to agree with that. Furthermore, our team needs are such that trading up (losing picks in the process) doesn't seem justified.

I disagree with his motor, he played injured this year which really hurt his stock and his play. I would too if I had 3 dislocated toes, ouch. Its not just the sacks that I see in him when you watch him, its his ability to chase down the RB for the opposite side of the the field and he ability to hunt the QB down, even if he doesn't sack the QB he had plenty of hurries. He has a great nose of the ball and he doesn't give up on plays.

I'm with ya on Groves!

I think we need to trade with Wash or Dal to make sure that Was doesn't take him or possibily even the Steelers at 23.

I agree with you about QB. I think if we want a good QB out of this draft we have to move up from #32, or we will be leapfrogged for him. Other than QB, I think Parcells would rather have the numbers than give them up to move higher.

But I don't think it's Henne. I think it's Flacco.

guys...we're not moving back into round one...we can't afford it......spent a ton of money on Jake Long...we need to stay where we are or even better, move down a little from 32 and get an extra pick or 2...the last thing we need is to pay another player 1st round money....is not like we're 1 players away...what we need is more picks in round 2 and 3.....not give away pick so that we can take ONE more player in round one that will push our cap off the roof.

Ozzy rules!!

I predict we pass on Groves and this board goes crazy. Just a hunch, but we tend to get hung up on names at certain positions, and the team passes for a lesser known guy. For instance, last year, we were set to take Satele WITH Kalil still on the board or not. This board would have blown a gasket. Can you imagine that, after passing on Brady? Would have been awesome. And, meanwhile, Samson starts 16 games and is a stud. I say in a surprise move, Cliff Avril goes before Groves to the Miami Dolphins. That, or we just dont address the position as early as we all think. Keep in mind, its fun to speculate, but the likelihood of us predicting even the positions we address is pretty low. For instance, Parcells is an "in the trenches" guy, so even though the defensive line doesnt seem like a glaring need when you look at the numbers, we WILL draft one earlier than people expect. Be prepared for things like that.

Yes I agree completely the smokescreen is Henne over Flaaco...

I still see all the QBs falling much later than people seem to suggest... the first two rounds teams are looking to the trenches....

We basically have 2 1sts, why move and loose our other 2nd, 3rd, or anything from next year, which we will need to continue thir rebuilding process. We do not have one area of need, we have a bunch, I would say NO to moving up, not in the state this team is...

There is NO WAY we move up. We deal JT for a pick, and make that pick. If anything, we'll be trading down.

Yep it looks like Groves will go end of first round, so if we are moving up it''s for him. In that range I can't see any of those teams selecting a QB so we wouldn't need to move up it it was a QB. I think he is the guy they want, he compares favorably to OLB's Parcells and Co. covet and have drafted in the past.
