Mike Munchak: The Dolphins requested to interview Munchak but he declined.

Kris Richard: Interviewed and is expected to have a 2nd interview

Darren Rizzi: Has not interviewed yet.

Eric Bieniemy: Interviewed no rumors about 2nd interview.

Dennis Allen: Interviewed no rumors of a 2nd interview.

Mike McCarthy: No interest shown by Miami or McCarthy

Brian Flores: Interviewed, conflicting rumors of a potential second interview.

Vic Fangio: Dolphins received permission to interview him but opted to not schedule an interview.

John Harbaugh: Despite potential trade rumors the Ravens are working on an extension for Harbaugh.

The Dolphins have concluded their first round of interviews as noted above. Unlike in years past it was reported that the sometimes eight hour sessions only took two hours at most this time around. Some of the candidates were less.

On Monday it was rumored that Kris Richards was the top candidate but that has swung towards Flores depending on who you follow and choose to believe. There are some who still believe that Rizzi will be the top choice eventually but there are still others who believe a trade could still be reached for Harbaugh.

Seems like they are really deciding between Flores and Richard... giving each a 2nd opportunity to wow them.

But it will be interesting to see what they will do if one coach's team moves on to the Championship game and the other doesn't. Most of the other coaching vacancies have been filled, so that is time lost getting potential staff in place. Will they be willing to wait all the way into February to hire their guy if they have both relatively close?

The only reason why Flores is being considered is because Grier is probably pushing for him because he does not want to work with someone like Richards because he is *****, and if we are looking for a stop gap hire to take for Lawerence then we should pass on Richards it would not be fair to him

What makes you think he’s a *****? Have you met the guy? Or do we have another internet badass on our hands?

So if its down to richards or flores, i think its a safe bet the gig goes to griers long time patriot pal flores. I think its been him from the start.

Not happy. Bill Billicheck IS the pats, especially the defense (where flores is clipboarding). Just another over rated coach with the pats record dazzling gm's eyes.

Who is pushing Richards then, because it sure isn't Ross driving the decisions?

Where do some of you get this stuff from?

You really believe we are hiring a coach with the idea of tanking for 2 years in order to take a QB in 2021?

Weirdly enough, Armando Salguero thinks we are actively telling head coaching candidates that we plan to tank for at least one season: https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article224077410.html

Quote from the article: "Miami’s next ex-head coach is going to lose in 2019 — to what degree we don’t know — because that is the team policy at least for a year. Everyone knows this. The candidates know this."

Brian Flores was a linebacker for Boston College from 1999 through 2003.

Chris Grier has worked for the Dolphins from 2000 to the present.

What are you even talking about?
