No surprise to any of us:

[h=2]#5 of 32 Miami Dolphins: Dallas Thomas[/h] PFF grade (position rank): -47.9 (82nd)
2015 salary cap hit: $761,594
Thomas was the worst guard in the NFL this season, according to Pro Football Focus. He ranked in the bottom two for both pass blocking and run blocking, and Ryan Tannehill's development certainly wasn't aided by Thomas' poor play.
Thomas gave up 10 sacks, the most of any guard, and 36 QB hurries, which placed him in the top three. It'd be a shock if new Dolphins coach Adam Gase decided to give Thomas another shot at a starting job in 2016.

I'll never understand this. I've seen NO writer/expert say anything good about DT. PFF had him, I think, as the NFL's worst OG. Every Dolphin fan out of diapers has seen his play. And this from the phinsider . . . "Between constant holding calls and plays that often resembled a revolving door, Thomas contributed greatly to the physical trauma that Ryan Tannehill has endured for the last three seasons." Now the least valuable player. How did he fool Philbin? How has he, so far, fooled Gase? How long will this go on?

I was wondering who it would be before I clicked on the thread... Dude is just so much of an afterthought now, I guess I forget his bum ass was even still here

Scary part of all this is, the coaching staff have had great things to say about him from the these past camps.

Well, I would feel better if he was just let go, but I will say I have no problem for this coaching staff giving him YET another chance to prove himself in camp and pre-season games (Far bigger turnarounds have happened), but if in games, he continues to get owned, this team needs to get rid of him.

Some players just look better in camp and practice, they they do in actual games...I don't care how good he is in practice, if he sucks in actual games, then he is worthless.

I don't think there is any harm letting Thomas go to camp with us. He is in the last year of his rookie deal, and has one last chance to get this. If he doesn't have a huge turn around I don't see him making the team. With Bushrod and John joining the team as free agents, and Tunsil slotted to play G, Douglas or Thomas will be cut or burred on the depth chart.

I know that Profootball focus is more qualified than I am, but Fox was the worst player on this team last year in my mind. He was abused by every DE he faced, and Tannehill took a pounding because of Fox. I don't remember ever seeing a player getting that out classed every week for a season in Miami Dolphins history. I think the front office agreed with me, as they released him as soon as they could.

We have a winner!:brewskis::hi5::hclap::iwantmore::kick::clap::rimshot::linedance:

They must see something in him that hasn't translated into the field yet. He probably looks great in practice. He seems to blow assignments (mental) more than your average player and I don't know that you can fix that on top of all the technique issues he has etc.

Agree, just from watching the games, Fox was plain old hopeless. You could tell that he knew it everytime a DE blew by him too. Definitely glad he's gone.

Incomprehensible to let a guy who has so clearly shown to have the wrong stuff continue to hold a starting gig hostage. For years now. There's no tangible reason to let him linger. He's not going to improve to the point of justifying a roster spot. He's that bad. Hard to move forward when you're stuck in reverse.

As poor as Thomas played, I would have to say it's as much of an indictment of the players behind him as it is of him. Apparently the coaching staff looked at Thomas and said yes we can see he's struggling, but he's still a better option than ?????. Thomas needs to go get a fresh start somewhere else, but all the guards that were on the roster last year (Turner and Douglas) need to pick up their games too.

FYI, Turner came in and graded in the middle third of OGs til he was injured. It's not just OGs though. Philbin (and Campbell) liked Jennings over Parker with Parker only getting in due to injuries. He liked J Taylor over anyone's grandmother. I'm not surprised he liked Thomas over Turner/Douglas. I AM surprised Gase APPEARS to think Thomas is salvageable.

I think ^THIS remains to be seen. This summer Gase will have a variety of players and some will be camp fodder; he's willing to let Thomas come to camp and present his case on the field. If, after a horrid (or usual) camp for Dallas Thomas, he is still on the team - we can then indict Gase.

isn't he lifting now , though?

Yes he is

But not to successful
