I have watched everything I can get my hands on from this guy from high school to the aqua and teal and I am going to make a bold statement right now (it shouldn't be a bold statement, but there are haters). In 2 years Ginn will have the special teams around him to become the best return man in NFL history as long as he doesn't get pulled from that duty because he comes on strong as a receiver and they want to protect him by revoking that status. In the 3rd year when our special teams is developed, holy God look out. A return man is like a running back. Give them people to block for them and they will show you their true talent. My prediction and you can repost and rub it in my face if I am wrong, is Ginn will hold all the NFL records as an NFL return man 3 seasons from now as long as he retains those duties 100% and doesn't become (and a good chance he might with the speed and hands he has displayed) a WR that gets pulled away from most of those duties. AND I QUOTE MYSELF "If Ginn stays healthy and as a return man for kickoffs and punts with regular duty assignment there, going into the 2011 season, he will hold, be challenging very closely for, or be dominating every major return record the NFL has, yes this includes Hester." Stop the Hate.

Ginn is a great athlete but he doesn't have the instincts the Hester does. If Ginn played for any of our rivals you be calling him a bust.

Kind of reminds me of the "Which CB will be able to cover Ginn in the NFL" Thread. And of course the answer to that by many dolphin fans was only Champ and all other CB's have no shot at covering Ginn.

could you do a

the man the myth the legend donnie baker thread for me???!!!

I personally never had any hate for ginn.

liked him at osu, like him with the phins.

coach him up. he's coachable as hell.

I am very interested to see how he does next season as a receiver. He was the 79th WR with 50 passes thrown his way based on DVOA for 2007. All I can say for sure is that he had a bad rookie season. I will wait until year 3 before I criticize him. I am expecting him to a top 50 DVOA next year.

no one is touching hester

Sad to say but its true, Hester is and will own all the return records. But if your asking me who id rather have as a WR then its ginn cause Hester has negative hands

Anyone who calls a WR who has only played one year doesnt know football, I dont care WHO he played for.

If Ginn matches Hester's special team production I would be impressed. If he is better than Hester I'll starting believing we are in the Matrix.

How can you say that for sure? Some poster on this board, I am not exactly sure who it was but made a comparison of Ginn's receiving totals this year compared to rookie wideouts over the years. I am not gonna dig it up because it was a while back but heres another comparison.

A lot of people like to compare Ginn to Steve Smith or Santana Moss. Steve Smith had 154 yards receiving in his first season. I know he was not a first round pick but he did not have the greatest stats and now hes a hell of a receiver. I am not saying that Ginn will end up like him but many people like to compare the two. Now on to the comparison of Santana Moss, Santana had 433 yards on 30 receptions in his second year ( Not using first year because he only played in two games). Ted Ginn Jr. had 34 receptions for 420 yards this past year.

I think Ginn's season was not bad considering he had absolutely no Quarterback, no running game due to Ronnie's injury and the O line was not exactly the greatest at protecting the pocket. Santana Moss had a pretty good Quarterback in Chad Pennington. I know he has no arm but he is a better Quarterback than Lemon.

I think Ginn will make a lot of people around the world and on these boards eat their words. Ginn may not ever put up the stats that a top 10 Wide Receiver should ( 1200 yards and so on) BUT I think he will be a contributing factor for this team for a long period of time and will have to be game planned by other teams due to his game breaking abilities.
