What do you guys think about the trade with Philadelphia, maxwell has been a bust but Alonso has played fairly good, he is more suited for the weak side to me, I'd love to have a stud MLB and Alonso on the weak side but For what the fins gave away I think it's still an OK trade. Opinions?

Really don't matter. We would've taking Tunsil even if we didn't trade out of the pick. It's like we got kiko for free. Maxwell can quit for all I care.

Thought it was a terrible trade then and still think it's terrible now.

Thought it was a questionable trade at the time, but Maxwell has been worse than I imagined. That said, Tunsil sliding means the trade has become Kiko for wasted cap space with the Maxwell contract, which I'm okay with right now. If Kiko gets hurt or leaves in the offseason, not so much.

Now if Elliot was there when Philly picked. This be the worst trade in Dolphins history. T-Bum got lucky Tunsil was there.

It would have been disastrous if not for the Tunsil drop. Which was a complete miracle. Just Tbum blundering along. It's a stupid team that would take on Maxwell's contract. Kiko's been alright. It's an absurdly ****ty haul to give up a top 10 pick for.

If Tunsil didn't fall, it would have been an all around terrible draft. I'm not going to give Tbum credit for Tunsil having ****ty friends and acquaintances.

It was an awful trade at the time, it is an unspeakably terrible trade now

I think we should've taken the 8th pick and made the trade that the Eagles did to swap with Cleveland's #2 overall and drafted Carson Wentz.

Edit: at the time we made the Philly trade we didn't even know the Cleveland trade was available. This was even more frustrating because we made this trade way too early. If you waited to find the true value of the #8 then you could've managed quite a bit more out of it (like the #2)

Bad trade. Moved back 5 spots for a black hole at corner with a price tag and an average ILB.

Got lucky Tunsil fell or we would of goofed on the 13th overall pick.

Still have a glimmer of hope for Kiko to improve, but our luck he'll blossom next year on another team

Too many unknows. As for Maxwell, there were/are legitimate questions about his talent but I remember NO ONE worried he wouldn't even try. Nor did anyone expect VJ to fight for a press corner and play him off. Miami had no hint of Maxwell's nonchalant attitude and I can't blame anyone but VJ for how he's used. Thus, to me,Maxwell in the trade was bad but not exclusively for reasons of talent. KA has worked out well. Some don't like him but he's the best MLB Miami has had in a while. As far as Tunsil, someone will have to help me. Yes, Miami is lucky he fell, but, had he not, someone else would have been there. Apple? Conklin? I have no idea, but Tunsil at, say, #4 would force someone else to #13. I call it no significant difference to not trading down.

Maxwell is a top 3 worst DB Miami has ever had on the roster as far as I'm concerned. Maybe even the worst but I'm sure I've forgotten quite a few.

He routinely plays soft and rarely makes any effort to make a solid tackle. I've seen him angling away from a ball carrier several times.

He is trash, pure and simple.

Kiko has worked out well. No one in here wanted a plug hole MLB. Everyone wanted a versatile MLB like Kiko. He done just that. Not his fault the LB unit sucks.

Maxwell has been garbage

I long for the days when the Dolphins had linebackers with instincts that laid the wood. When they hit you, you didn't fall forward for another 2+ yards you were stopped dead in your tracks or fell backwards and it took a second to get up off the ground. I know most of you remember Zach Thomas standing Jerome Bettis up like Bettis ran into a wall. There's not a linebacker on this roster that can do that. Kiko has instincts, but he can't stack and shed lineman, he can't be a thumper and he's been awful in coverage so far.

If you guys think Kiko Alonso has been playing fine it's because you've lowered your standards to just below average level. It's not your fault though. MLB play on this team has been subpar for so long many of you don't remember what a good MLB looks like anymore.

Kiko has been active. He has missed a few tackles and been out of place a few times, but he is miles better than anything we have fielded since having Dansby in the middle.

Maxwell has been terrible . . . Its not even that his play has sucked, he just has lacked in effort completely and honestly I would rather see anybody else play over him at this point.

In the end, I did not have a problem with this trade . . . But in hindsight we really lucked out with Tunsil being there and getting him outside of the top 10 will make that 5th year option quite a bit lower. Glad Kiko has remained healthy.

If We got to do it again knowing the results, I would not of made the trade.
