is the number of games Ryan has started int he NFL (beck 4)
is the number of snaps Ryan has taken in the NFL (beck ALOT MORE)
is the number of snaps Matt Ryan has taken with an NFL first team even in a practice
is the number of ACC titles let alone national titles
is how long Matt Ryan has worked with our new coaching staff (Beck has something like 3500 throws)

I KNOW I KNOW it is the number of games John Beck has won
BUT
MOST IMPORTANTLY it is the number of chances and opportunities so many people are giving John Beck

How can someone say with these numbers as evidence even if Matt Ryans measurables are good that he is the NEXT big thing in the NFL. PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK will he be a good/solid/all pro/ pro bowler WHO KNOWS. was he a good college QB yes he was but that dosent make him the next Tom Brady so stop with all the John Beck hatred for whatever reasons you dont like him just stop. Im very very excited about Beck's enthusiasm and work ethic towards this season he wants the job he WANTS TO WIN and as someone posted on here in the last few days fits alot of the BP 11 QB commandments. Matt Ryan is a good QB but isnt the kind you spend a #1 pick he isnt Carson, Eli or Peyton im not saying Beck is but unless he gets a chance with the best team around him as possible we will never know. Im just tired of seeing Ryan this and Ryan that and if we get Ryan we are automatically awesome blah blah blah. Let things play out BP has forgotten more football then your GRANDKIDS will ever know so please let him do his thing.

Sadly, it also seems to the number of new thread ideas...

I was gonna say 30,000,000.....since thats what he would be asking for in guaranteed money.

That's the X-factor IMO.

I tried coke zero and it sucked, but I just dont see parcells and co drafting matt ryan but then again maybe im wrong, if they cant trade out, im pretty sure they go with chris long, bc jt is most likely on his way out

ZZzzz......ZZzzz......ZZzzz.......

IN TUNALAND WE TRUST!!!!!

I asked this question on several threads and never could get an answer.

If the Dolphins drafted Matt Ryan and he struggled, played poorly, threw interceptions and basically made rookie mistakes would he get the same consideration that Beck has?
Would he get a chance to adapt to NFL play or would they be calling him a bust, not a starting caliber QB and all the other remarks given about Beck?

How long would they give Ryan to adjust, 4 games, 5 games, a whole season, and if not would they be asking for another QB to be drafted next year to replace him?

IMO the same people who are asking for Beck to have a chance, would be asking the same thing for Ryan as they know rookies do make mistakes. I am afraid the same people bashing Beck would be bashing Ryan, if not they will be making excuses for him.

One word... over-simplification...

Were any of Becks' teams playing for a National Title...? oh and by the way Beck didn't exactly woo anyone in those 4 pro starts...

Poise and ability to handle pressure are too intangibles that are hard to measure... Beck is no further ahead than Ryan..., maybe a little behind thanks to CamRam

Awful thread. By your logic, experience is the only thing that matters. By your logic, shouldn't you be arguing for Josh McCown to start? He has much more experience and with some wins and TDs to boot? But I guarantee you won't use your silly numbers game to argue on Josh McCown's behalf.

No i like McCown I would welcome him to start but IMO but i dont think he will i think his job to to start if Beck doesn't progress in the system as fast as they want though i think Beck is or if injury or if BP/JI/Sparano just wants a vet to start the season then hand the reigns off the next guy. McCown has numbers on anyone on our roster but numbers though i have them are just asking people to let things play out dont entitle anyone. I dont care who we draft Ryan, Gholston, Long/s as long as BP & JI think it will improve our team im all for it.

this is what this forum is all about. People defending and standing up for what they want who cares who is right and who is wrong personally i dont think anyone is if thats their opinion more power to them. We all are PASSIONATE Dolphin fans and i love to see the intensity for our team

George Blanda has 26 years of experience as an NFL QB...that's alot more that zero snaps...maybe he's available.
