The most important stat the media doesnt talk about

I've always agreed. I use that argument about Brady the most when some troglodyte wants to cite his jewelry collection.

Exactly.

Obviously there is correlation between good QB play and winning, but at the end of the day the QB didn't cause the win on his own.

I agree with one possible clarification. High ranked QBs usually go to teams with more losses and a lessor roster.
After a few years, a QB can really influence wins more than any other position.

I don't disagree that having a top QB means you have a better chance to win each week. I don't even disagree that a top QB shoulders most of the burden.

There is a second high percentage way to win games though, and that is keeping the opposing passing game in check which is something we do via turnovers as well or better than anyone.

All I'm saying is that wins come from a lot of plays, the LT blocking out that star pass rusher on a deep throw, your corner shutting down a top wideout, so on. I can't just say a QBs record defines him.

Hell Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow had winning years/success early in that respect, neither was even an average QB.

Teams look at drafting a QB as an opportunity to try filling a key position with a relatively low (rookie contract) cost. The media does offer commentary about this point.

There is absolutely a correlation between having a good QB and winning. Let me restate this though - anyone know who the winningest QB in franchise history is? Griese? No. Marino? No.

David Woodley at 30-14-1 (including playoffs). It’s about a 69% winning %. David Woodley was better than Bob Griese and Dan Marino. Change my mind 😂

That's cool.

I agree with the seeming majority here, that wins is a measure of the entire team, rather than the QB.

As to the stat in general, of the guys listed, and the state currently/historically of the franchises, with the exceptions of Herbert and TT, I would be surprised if any of those players finished their careers substantially with an above .500 record.

If I were laying down a bet, I will take Tua as the guy that ends up on top of that list.

The reason I believe that is as much to do with Flo, as it is our QB. Great coaches are just as rare as great QBs, and we got us one.

Not a wanna be Wanny. Not a burned out JJ, with one foot already on his boat in the Keys. Not a glorified OC with a misnomer title of HC like Cameron or Gase, who had zero business of trying to be a leader of grown men.

Flo is a leader. He exudes a no nonsense toughness that is contagious. He is a disciplined, structured, and I have to believe "straight" with his players. He is consistent in message as well as method. While all of those things are required, it still comes down to gameplans, systems and teaching the players to execute the two.

Tua seems to be QB smart. He now has a better grasp of the system, makes quicker and decisive decisions, is navigating the pocket more effectively, generally places the ball in the right spot and looks physically up to the task. Those were questions for me until now.

I'm getting off on a tangent here.....

My main point was, I like our QB/HC tandom better than that of any of those franchises in the OPs tweet.

So basically what some of you are saying is that Tua doesnt deserve credit for winning yet he will, and has, gotten blamed for losing. This kid is ****ed no matter what he does.

I can see it now... Tua is the Superbowl MVP... "but he only got it because of the great offensive play calling."

He has twice as many wins as losses and twice as many TDs as interceptions. Did you guys forget about the scrubs we put out on that field before him? The kid is a star in the making. You guys act like Drew Brees was a hall of famer from the start of his rookie year.

The kid is going to take a few years to become great but he has already shown he is improving and that he has the drive, heart, and commitment to do it. I know for a fact, some of the naysayers will be on here, and in other places, saying "I always said the kid was going to be great" in a few years when he is torching the league.
