After todays events I have been thinking of our future. I have mixed feelings about Saban and never thought he has done that much for us.
I don't like the fact that he brought in (and kept) Thugs on the team; I believe we all want to root for great players with good morales.
I don't believe that he was a great motivatior for the players, look at how slow the team started off every game (and season) under Saban.
Also, I believe a coach should make decisions whole-heartedly! The first game this season against Pittsburgh, when Saban did not know if he should challenge the TD or not, showed his indecisiveness. He threw the challenge flag (barely) and was not stern in his decision to challenge that play.
Finally, I don't believe in a coach that his word can not be counted on. Other than lying to his team, owner and fans, I now believe Braylon Edward's Agent that he was told Saban would draft Edwards if he was available.
With teams like Arizona, Atlanta and add Pittsburgh sometime in the next week, luring in a good coach is going to be a struggle. Arizona and Atlanta have better talent than we do at this point and Pittsburgh has that "it" factor and legacy that coaches want to coach for. Plus this will be the deciding factor for JT to retire (or ask for a trade) AND to top that off, we again have NO STABILITY and will impliment a new system. The talent just is not there, I go on the books warning you all "We will be as bad, if not worse than the Raiders for years".
Funny, I still believe Saban is a good coach, but with the way he handled everything the last few weeks and now leaving us in such turmoil, I am glad to see him go......
