Ben Moffitt, I've watched this guy all year and he is always around the ball making plays. Some says he is small and slow but thats the same that was said about Z. Thomas. There is track speed and pad speed so guys are faster with pads on.
2007: Started all thirteen games at middle linebacker, serving as squad captain…The Dick Butkus Award semi-finalist led a unit that gave up a total of 342.62 yards per game…Ranked second on the team with 104 tackles (70 solos), the sixth-highest season total in school history…Registered twelve stops for losses of 32 yards as the team gave up 130.54 yards per game on the ground…Recovered two fumbles and deflected five passes…Had four interceptions for 136 yards in returns (34.0 avg), including one touchdown…
PRO POTENTIAL: LB Ben Moffitt - His week at the Senior Bowl was overshadowed by allegations reported in The Tampa Tribune from his soon-to-be ex-wife that she did virtually all of his school work during his USF career. It's doubtful that will hurt his draft status and he's still expected to be a mid- to late-round selection. Let's take a look if he is still there with out 4th round pick.

Very Impressive, especially if he is there very late.

Not sure if the next Zach Thomas will be a dummy.

Hey Guys,I like this guy,and hope we can get him in the middle round. Can anyone tell me when does the trading period start.

It does raise a red flag, but you never know with these kind of things. It may just be sour grapes by the soon-to-be ex wife. A lot of craziness goes on during divorces.

I have seen many quality football players that probably had trouble figuring out the concept of opening a door, but this kid does seem to have very good football instincts. If he does well at the combine, it's not really going to matter what the X said, he could be a player with solid football smarts.

Even though i agree that book smarts don't nessicarily translate to football smarts, i don't want another Jason Allen, a guy with all the physical potential but cant learn the defensive concepts.

I am sure this staff will make sure there is no more of that, but this kid does seem to have very good instincts, he does seem to be at the right point on each play....then again, those are highlights, so wholes know how many times he was out of position.

nice vid. He seems to take away the angle on short passes very well and he does look like a Zach Thomas type player. If he becomes that it remains to be seen but living in Tampa his name was always brought up as one of the best players on the D and as we all saw he had some nice plays versus some pretty stiff competition.

Not a bad looking player if he can be had late.

One of the reasons Zack was unfortunately let go,,besides his concussion and age to go w/ the salary....
It was also b/c he does not fit the MLB mold that they want in their 3-4..
They want middle linebackers to be 6-3 255 lbs...or so...
so this guy is not useful...

I think Jordan Dizon, Colorado Buffaloes linebacker, and Butkus award finalist should be our guy in the 6th round.
