The Obsession With Tua Over Team Is Misguided

Sorry about your boy, must be a tough time for you guys. Enjoy him while you can, he won’t last much longer now.
Of course its a tough time for us we haven't won a playoff game in 20 years or a SB in 50 years. I just have common sense to know that the blame goes way past Tua. We have a culture of losing and the one constant for the last 20 years is a man named Grier. But yeah you keep acting like its only been a tough time ever since Tua has been under center. I'm sure you were happy all those year prior to him being drafted.

The blame does go way past Tua, which is why Grier/McDaniel should have been fired yesterday. They are not the problem though because they are an easy fix, they are not guaranteed 167M. Tua is the primary problem with this franchise right now, he sucks and he’s getting paid like a boss. Between Cleveland and Miami, it’s hard to say which team has a worse situation. These are the two worst situations in football thanks to their fraudulent QBs and those who bought into them.

And who gave Tua that contract? Tua didn't extend himself and Tua didn't draft himself. I don't blame the waiter for the kitchen staff over cooking my food. Tua is also not the only player with a bloated contract. Tua threw more TDs last year than Watson has in his entire Browns career but yeah totally the same situation.

At least Watson won a playoff game in his first 5 years. He did more to earn his money than Tua and many thought he was a budding superstar, but obviously both of them are overpaid bum QBs holding their teams back.

I'm sure Browns fan everywhere are eternally grateful because Watson won a playoff game for the Texans back in 2019. That's something they can tell their children about for years to come.

Tua/Watson. Potato/Potata. Dolphins fans can tell their grandchildren about how Tua DEMOLISHED the Russell Wilson Broncos, Yay! I hope we eat the dead cap like Denver and cut our losses.

There's many more than just one.

So the solution was to create a thread just for them?

I think we can agree that they're in the minority, and certainly fewer than the fans who get more enjoyment out of, "SEE? I WAS RIGHT! WE SUCK! YAY, LOOK AT ME!" than actually having the team do well.

This is a joke right? Deshaun watson has been the worst starting QB in the NFL this year, worse than our backups even.

YOu want to say tua and herbert are potato/potata that actually makes sense because they both have struggled to beat good teams.

Not a single GM in professional football would take tua over Herbert, not even our moron at this point. Only on finheaven is this a debate. But I know you love tua and many others do as well and would take him over a lot of QBs who are much better, bless your hearts.

Eh, I see it in Dallas the past few cycles.

There's fans that purely post that are "pro-Dak". And equally the ones that just post anti-Dak.
Media too, depending on the source has the equal level homer or "hater" headlines too on the QB.

I’d say because that is the going rate. It will be interesting to see if it declines at all in the coming years due to the fact that it is so risky. (such as those in the recent months)

I personally would have tagged him for this year so he’d have to prove it. I also think you should get what you can from that first contract on all players. This changing a contract two or three years into a five year deal really bothers me.

This is critical, since not all draftees and UDFA's for that matter, "pan out".

It is also one of the reasons why you build thru the draft. You are always bringing in new players via the draft and hiring UDFA's. Since so few really turn into top-flight players, that means a lot of money goes into average, or less than average players. Some are not in the league after 4 years.

Therefore, it is important to maximize the time a player who "pans out" to their original contracts as long as possible. No one knows who is going to really "pan-out". Those who say they do are full of it.

The contract protects the average to less than average player from getting their salary reduced, but at the cost of not getting more money sooner. THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A CONTRACT. Both parties get value from it.

Go take a look at who herbert has beaten and come back to me. All of the **** you guys use against tua applies to herbert as well but feel free to ignore it and show your bias. Herbert might be the most overrated QB in the NFL because you all fall in love with his body and ignore the fact that his production has gotten worse every year, he never beats good teams, and he consistently comes up short when he has a chance to win the game. Which is super ironic because these are the same reasons youll use to say tua sucks, well outside of getting worse every year because tua has actually improved upon every season so far.

But herbert has a big arm so who gives a **** if he actually plays well.

Id like you to provide a logical argument as to why herbert is better than tua at this point. You sure wont be able to use any stats to prove your point because every single one will favor tua so lets see what you can come up with.

Yep here are their stats vs teams with a winning record from 2022-2024.
