It seems like no one is discussing this, and I can't contemplate why at all. The Falcons have an undersized defensive line, an inexperienced and talent-less secondary, and a linebacker corps that is mediocre at best. If we can't score any points against these guys then we can't score against anybody, and if we can't run the ball against these guys, then the entire offensive line and corps of running backs should pack their **** and go home.
What a joke.
From the telegraphed play calling - to the turnovers - to the God awful o line play - to the lack of anything resembling a playmaking receiver - to Pennington looking like a rookie - the whole offensive showing was absolutely atrocious.
I was shouting it from mountain tops since 2006 that we needed a real wide out and everyone poo pooed my sentiments with homerism and assurances that Ted Ginn is the real deal. Well, maybe Pennington would have gotten rid of the ball quicker all game if a receiver actually got open here and there. Novel concept.
The O line played terribly and the play calling was abysmal. The run blocking was unimpressive at best and the pass blocking was just ridiculously terrible. We gave up on the run way too early and Anthony Fasano needs to get the hell out of here as soon as he can pack his ****.
I'm sorry, and I know that it was just one game, but that was ****ing terrible.
If this **** continues I'll be calling for Chad Henne because the O needs a spark so badly. I feel like this is 2003 all over again, and I can't see this team waste another good defense with a joke of an offense.

Agree, I cant remember the last time I was embarrassed this bad during a game. Everyone was saying how bad atlanta's defense was and if that is the case, we must be really bad.

Hopefully its the kick in the *** we need. Sparano better be ripping the O-line a new one right now

The oline play was bad and ATLs down 4 made the rest of their defense better. I wouldn't be so upset if there was not so much money invested in it. John Abraham pancaking Jake Long was the lowlight...

Give the Falcons credit today. Their front 7 played very well.

Amazing how much better the OL plays w. Jake Grove in there!

Jake and Jake and Vernon are definitely worth 20 percent of the team salary.

I actually think that if you dissect the offense the only position we are average or better is the WR corp other than Ginn. Seriously, what did they do bad compared to our pathetic list of #1 draft picks of Brown, Ginn, and Long.

Seriously, I'm shocked that we got dominated by the Atlanta defense. I was thinking that Atlanta's defense should be congratulated for the great job they did today, but our offensive line was absolutely awful. Pennington had no time to throw the ball and was constantly being hurried. The turnovers shocked me as well.

Just committing four turnovers will kill you, but our defense played solid. I was very happy with the rush defense. Ryan was put on his *** often and early, but then he was able to carve into our secondary and had a very solid day.

Atlanta outplayed us but this offense was sickening today. The play calling didn't impress me either. I REALLY hate to say this, but the most improvements are made between Week 1 and Week 2, so let's hope that Sparano get the offensive line going or we will be blown out by Indy next week. It is so vital that they get Pennington more time in the pocket.

The only thing I'm happy with is that Turner didn't kill us. He was a pedestrian out there. If you would have told me he only had 65 yards rushing today, I would say with confidence that we would win, but we were just manhandled.

I knew this season wouldn't be easy, but FML!

Give credit to an Atlanta defence that played very well. They're nowhere near as bad as people said, and the defensive line always had it in them to get pressure. Abraham was always going to be a bad match up for Long, and it proved the case. The Atlanta coaches delivered. But the Dolphins defence looked good and held in check the Falcons offence for the most part and won their trench battle.

Games aren't won on paper. Just because a team's defense is bad on paper doesn't mean anything if the opposing team does'nt execute and exploit that weakness.
