Nice way to start the season. Cy Young winner Brandon Webb only looked so/so today, "Papa Grande" AKA Jose Valverde came in and closed the door on the Rockies..
8 runs scored by 5 different guys, very nice way to start the season..on the road.
 
i don't like the new uni's
 
I think 1-4 you've got a great rotation, and I love a lot of your long players. Is Quenton hurt?

I like the Arizona lettering but it looks like they stole the Washington
Nat's colors when they weren't looking. The Rocks were winning last
I checked 6-5, but I guess Corpas must have gotten lit up? I think the
Rocks and D-Backs can give the Dodgers a good run this year.

Carlos Quentin? Yeah, he tore up his throwing shoulder in Spring Training I believe. I think he is gonna be out a couple of weeks. He will be re-habbing here in Tucson (sidewinders). I will keep you updated as I try to make as many sidewinder games as I can..where else can you see the reigning champs (Triple A) for a mere $5 bucks a game, while enjoying 80 degree weather and cheap import beer:wink:
 
Dangit, nothing like keeping it close going into the bottom of the 8, then give up 7 and get blown out....DAMN BULLPEN.....
Doug Davis was solid, but threw a ton of pitches in just 5 innings.

BTW: First time I have seen the new Uniforms on TV. They are absolutely Hidious....
 
Woohooo. Squeak one out to even the record at 2-2...Bullpen looked better tonight. Edgar Gonzalez looks 200% improvement from last year. If he can keep this up, we might have a nice rotation. That would push Randy Johnson back to 4 or 5....where he should be...
 
Nothing like as Shellacking of the nationals to get things back on the up and up. 3-2 to start. All of those on the road. We'll take it. These "Kids" are gonna be fun to watch this season.

Cy Young winner Brandon Webb looked a little rusty on his opening day debut (What pitcher doesnt), but he picked it up a little last night. Anybody that hasnt seen this kid pitch should make it a point to. His stuff is FILTHY. He yielded 1 er in 7 innings and recorded 8 K's. The single run came off a Homerun by Austin Kearns that clearly glanced off an I-beam that was about 12 inches foul...and as D-backs announcer Matt Williams eluded to, Webb is probably pi$$ed-not because of the controversial call, but because he served up a pitch that could be mis-contrued as a homerun. Pretty much the way this kid is wired.

As for the poster inquireing about Carlos Quentin. I was mistaken, it was his NON-throwing arm. He is coming off DL today, has been taking BP and says he is at about 80%. He should come to Tucson on Assignment with the Triple A Sidewinders. I hope to catch a game or two in the next 2 weeks, and will report any progress I see with him
