It's a no brainer our D was pretty poor this year.

It's also pretty obvious this team lacks a #1 WR and reliable TE.

But is this team REALLY settled at QB? Will the QB position be open to competition next year or is it handed to Henne, who was...good and bad (=mediocre) as a whole for a second year QB.

Plenty of tape, youtube, etc on Thigpen to evaluate (saw on post earlier this year).

Sparano's success or failure will be dictated by no other position more than the QB position. Will he really let Thigpen compete fair and square for a starting role?

If so, why was PW the #2 QB as a rookie with no NFL starting experience?

Thigpen had NFL starts and threw over 300 yards last year against the Fins.

Would this seasons record and outcome been any different if Thigpen had started?

I doubt it.

The starting QB position should be open to both Henne and Thigpen come next season, if it is, we just may see a change.

I must admit.... I really didn't expect one of these threads.
You must still be drunk or something.

This board is so "Flavor of the week" oreiented..Someone plays ok for 2 drives and he is our next starting qb..

Pretty Laughable...

OH.....MY.....GOD!!!!!

Sorry bro, but this post has officially gone to the looney house. The QB competition this creates in TC will be nice to have, and should make Henne even better, but Henne is the future and will be the starter barring anything unforseen. To think otherwise is complete lunacy.

pat white is our back qb and thigpen should get a chance to start...this is where the game is going.

This is ridiculous. Congrats on creating the worst thread of 2010...4 days in. Thats tough to do.

You can't be serious...

I like Thigpen, but Henne is our future. I definitely think Thigpen should be our #2, and can even be used to run some variation of the wild pat, since he can move pretty fast and unlike White, can actually make some throws.

Maybe Thigpen increased his value as part of a draft day package. To that end I'm happy. I do wish Henne has his mobility but that's about it. I could, however, live with him as our backup if Penny doesn't return.

It's just funny how we have a QB who's 7-5 in games he's completed, has the players who actually line up with him raving about his weekly improvement, leadership and field generalship, has all star QBs and HCs terming him a future franchise QB, and whose team lost their best guard, their center, 2/3rds of their running attack, while his defense always put him in a hole, and was asked to throw 55 times in a game

--who some denialists (albeit a small minority here) are still trying to jettison. I'd love to read the newsgroup and forum posts during Elway's and PManning's first years. I did read the Eli posts in the Giant forums back during his 1st 2 years, and a lot more of them were even more brutal so I'm taking all of this anti-Henne denial and wishful thinking with the grain of salt it merits.

I like Thigpen's playmaking ability but he is far too inconsistent and mistake-prone. The ceiling is MUCH higher with Henne. How can you possibly not be excited to see how much Henne improves this offseason??

Ridiculous thread.

I like Thigpen, but he had as many bad plays as good ones against the Steelers. Henne deserves a chance to show what he can do next season.

It was nice to see Thigpen move around and avoid pressure.. He does it better than Henne, but Henne is the better QB of the two.
