Since switching to a heavier bat Davis is making a lot more contact; which is not a good thing if you're an opposing pitcher. After altering his stance in Spring Training, Hamilton has reverted back to his old stance and is starting to hit like the '08 Hamilton. Probably most important for the Texas Rangers offense, Kinsler is starting to heat up.

And finally, up until last night, the pitching has been great (2.97 ERA in May).........but Tim Tschida has got to be one of the worst umpires in MLB. I thought Milwood was getting squeezed, but that was nothing compared to the way he squeezed Holland. For the 2+ innings Derek Holland was in the game, Tshcida squeezed him on 5-7 'balls' that should've been stirkes. Tschida may or may not have a bias against the Rangers, but one thing is for sure, he's one of those umpires that believes a rookie should never have an advantage over a veteran player....so he ajusts his stirke zone how he sees fit. Someone should drag that Ron Jeremy look alike mother****er ( http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0aqQadc2jb38j/610x.jpg ) out in the parking lot and kick his ****ing ***.

I"m not sure how long the Rangers will keep it up, but they should be better than last year. If nothing else, Holland/Andrus/Davis/Harrison/Felman etc. are getting experience.

Lackey gets ejected after 2 pitches........the Rangers caught a break there.

The Rangers win their 6th game in a row (16-5 over their last 21 games).

Another win, that's 7 straight now; that's also 13 out of our last 15.

Tuesday: McCarthy vs. Willis
Wednesday: Harrison vs. Verlander
Thursday: Milwood vs. Jackson

Detriot has killed Texas recently (going back to last year), so I'm guessing they take at least 2 out of 3 against Texas. The Rangers best chance to win is probably Tuesday, if they don't win that one I think they'll get swept.

Texas got swept in Detroit, but that's ok, because Texas swept Houston.

Now they have the Yankees at home. I'm going to predict that the Rangers lose 2 of those 3 games, I hope I'm wrong.

Well, the Rangers are still in it. It sucks though that they could miss the Playoffs and still have as good or better a record than some of the Division leaders.

Derek Holland seems to be coming along well; he just dominated perhaps the best offense in all of baseball. I have to say, the Rangers have a lot of young starters that are really coming along this year (Holland, Hunter, Feldman) and Feliz should step into the rotation next year. That's a lot of young high ceiling talent. Martin Perez might be ready by 2011 and he could be the better than all of them.

Martin Perez is making his AA debut tonight at just 18.3 years old. He's been compared to Johan Santana.

That game Frankie Francisco blew was the toughest loss of the year, but Texas bounced back and ran all over Boston. Texas has a career spare starting today, and Boston has a rookie starting for them......tough to say who has the advantage. Nippert's stuff has improved since coming from Arizona, but I don't trust him to go more than 5 innings. With that said, I like his future with Texas as a long reliever.

I'd also like to add, it was nice to see Holland have a solid start in Arlington despite not having anything close to his best stuff.
