3rd and 2 just inside Steelers territory, pitch to Ronnie with no blocking support, deep into the 4th with the Dolphins up a field goal. Had we found a way to convert that we likely end up at least in field goal range with at least three more plays to kill clock. Unfortunately the offensive line did nothing and the pitch was awkward to say the least. A more conventional play would have probably had a higher chance of success.

I agree completely.

Even aside from running, their DB's gave our WR's huge cushion the entire night. We could've worked out some type of short pass. That was the worst play call I've ever seen.

That was the same play (to the opposite side) that Ronnie ran for the TD. It was a bad call because Pittsburgh looked like they were expecting it.

Yep. Ronnie wasn't gaining much with the limited blocking, but he was usually good for two.
He had no blocking, no offensive line, nothing. He fought for every yard, I'm sure he could have trucked it in for 2. Each yard he picked up were tough yards.

samer reply for me as another thread. i am positive that if we had run a simple dive play we would have lost a yard at least. i wish we would have gone play action to the te...but if that play worked we would be calling moolarkey a genuis. goes with the territory. it worked for pittsburgh

I do not agree - We knew they had a tough D. I think it was the blown asignments all night that cost us the game. All three of their touchdown was way to easy...

Agreed. Should have just lined up in the I, had Barnes take the lead out front, and have Ronnie fight and claw for two yards behind center.

I don't think we would have lost a yard had we just force fed it up the middle. Most of their blitzers and pressure were coming from the outside because they were expecting either a rollout or a pitch. We'd have been able to shove it through for two yards.

I disagree...the play where we had them pinned deep in their territory and were about to force a punt, and then number 30 (who ever he is) draws a penalty...automatic 1st down...that ruined it for us IMO...

I still Blame it on LEhan!!

They were gonna punt it inside the 10 and he gets a holding penalty!! Saban tore him a neww One!! I hope he gets released

I agree their TDs were too easy (one was way too easy because it wasn't a TD, but that's for another thread), but you generally need to score more than 17 points to win an NFL game.
