I was just inspired to write this because a recent thread got me to thinking....What is the ONE single best play that you've ever seen Miami make? This is OPINION.

Suggestions-
1. The "Spike" against NYJ.
2. That one, long soul killing pass opening day agasint NE one year..I forget which.
3. Trace sacking Flutie to win vs Buffalo that one year.
4. the Hook and, lateral vs SD.

I'm not even sure I can pick. I gotta admit, Clayton and that one catch vs Chicago on Monday night was Pretty dang good...Where he was on his back.

Also....Where Bryan Cox Blew up Harvey Williams and knocked him out of the game VS KC was good too. :D

There is no wrong answer here:wink:

How about the 2001 wildcard playoff game when Lamar Smith went running in for the game winning score in OT? It wasn't a spectacular play, but it was pretty awesome.

I always will remember the Strock to Harris to Nathan lateral against the Chargers, man was I going nuts when that happened.

I first thought was "the Spike" but then you reminded me about the time Trace armstrong Knocked the "Flutie Flakes" out of a mighty mouse up in Buffalo.
I hope we get another candidate thursday night!!!

How about Dan bouncing a pass off Mike Singletary's helmet for a completion to Mark Duper (?) in the 1985 MNF game against the Bears?
I'd say that or the Fake Spike play.

Touchdown Tommy meets the Bagelmeister (John Offerdahl) on Monday Night in Cleveland. Dierdorff's best line ever.

The hook and lateral against San Diego in 1982 was awesome. I went ballistic. That was the greatest game ever played. My Marino era favorite play was the 4th down, 4th qtr. bomb to Irving Fryar against New England. (Marino's first game following the achilles). The fake spike was great. Post Marino: The catch Chambers made in the back of the end zone against Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.

Rosenfels to Chambers for the game winner. I'm not saying it's the best. But damn did Chambers blow up.

In my lifetime, I'm going with Fake Spike play. Its the first thing that came to mind when I saw the title.

I think you just answered your own question. There isn't just one. Although the hook against SD was the best play in the greatest game ever played. :D

This is a great thread!

I seem to remember Ferrell Edmunds streaking for an 80 yard touchdown at the Jets in one of our high scoring losses at the Jets during the late 80's early 90's. That was a great play!

Hook and Lateral hands down. Great play in a great game! The others were good in their own right, but as far as best for what it meant at the time, that hook and lateral was amazing.
