I can tolerate the "Suck for Luck" Strategy - and I am firmly in the do what ever it takes to get Andrew Luck camp - is from an organizational standpoint. I can't do it from a game-by-game perspective. Every time my Dolphins suit up, I want them to win. I can't help it. So given this, I would be completely fine with trading our few good players for draft picks. This way we build up draft picks and our team becomes worse and worse from a talent standpoint.
Big picture, for the next twenty years, we need a Franchise QB, and a great coach. That's the only way to win. So from an organization/franchise standpoint, you don't tank the season from a game to game level. You trade away your current talent to ensure you get that Franchise QB. Denver traded their only talent on offense - Brandon Lloyd. They also have thrust Tebow into the starting QB spot. They will go into the rest of the season with much less talent on offense than they started with. Ironically, Tebow could end up bringing Luck to Denver.
We need to start doing the same thing. Trade Cam Wake, Brandon Marshall, Sean Smith, Kendall Langrord, Phillip Merling etc. (Everyone except Vontae Davis). Stockpile draft picks while dropping our overall talent level. This will set our team up for decades of success. I know with Jeff Ireland running things he's not going to do this while he's still working for the Dolphins because he knows he's toast anyway. But this would be a good approach I believe.
