The play that Sean Smith was burned by Akin.. Check this play out

it looked like offensive pass interference to me

that's not on him, possible offense PI and that was just bad luck...

Unfortunately I think this play is indicative of Smith's season so far. The guy has the ability to be out there but even when he is in position to make a great play things somehow don't turn out right. You can't always fault him for plays like that, but I know that if he were really playing with the confidence that he was in the preseason than he would be outplaying those offensive players for the ball.

Thats how you go undeafted. Luck plays a role.

Looks like typical growing pains of a rookie to me. It happens. Nothing more to see here and if you cannot see that, then you're blind as a football fan. It is about as unfortunate as the play a few years ago in Green Bay when the guy was going down and had the ball bounce of either himself or the defender, caught it without being touched and got up and ran it in for a td. This type of stuff happens. Smith has had an up and down year but for him to step in as a rookie against the teams we have played and for the most part, hold his own, it is a sign of good things to come IMO.

I don't understand the point of this thread. That was a great, great play by Aiken. It was absolutely Moss-like.

Of course, being finfans we want to focus on the CB, but you got to give credit to the WR on that play.

Aiken was making fun of the gay Jimmy Buffett song after he made the play, I was LMAO

That was a rock star play by the WR. What are you going to do? Doo Doo happens. We still got the W, that's the only stat that matters.

wow that Saints play was crazy, i was out of the loop of NFL action this week being i just got engaged... but thats crazy, like the stiff arm by brees first off all, that Dlineman is gonna get ripped by his teammates when watching film, haha... surprised they didn't consider the DB down by contact when they first picked it...

damn the Saints getting these breaks at the end of the first half often... happened against us too with the Bess fumble, then the Timeout to have them get the TD

Still, Smith should have made the tackle and if anything, he should have pushed the guy out the way.

Smith wont be starting next year, it'll be Davis and Allen like it should've been this year.

There's a reason Davis was a 1st rounder and Smith was a 2nd rounder - Davis is better.

Smith is constantly getting burned, luckily, most of the time, his man drops the ball or it's overthrown, but that doesn't negate the fact he got burned.

I was watching the play at a sport's bar and the numerous replays....didn't it appear Aiken was all over Smith's back? My only issue with Smith is he reacted too late......how do you allow a receiver to crawl all up and over you like that. Smith didn't play the ball or the receiver and there is no way he should have allowed Aiken to manhandle him like that. It reminds me of the play Randy Moss made where he beat Cameron Worrell a couple years back. Randy disappeared yesterday after his touchdown catch......you have to wonder if it was because they stopped going to him, or maybe Vontae and Sean Smith stepped it up.
