Those of you who listened in on Saban last night heard him preach continuity. Continuity would NOT involve a QB change. Yet Daunte Culpepper is "the future." Your thoughts.

i guess that means joey will be the qb?
:dolphins:

Daunte is opened the season as the starting QB of the Dolphins, then was taken out due to his injury......and has remained out due to his injury. Putting the starter back once healthy in no way contradicts his statement about continuity.

I think Saban will give Culpepper every chance to win back the starting job in 2007. In the end however, when the decision needs to be made, he'll go back to Harrington....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

That makes a lot of sense burger13. 4 games - 12 games :mor911: ? 4 games - 12 games :mor911: ?

I agree w/the part about Culpepper, but I think we gotta draft a QB at some point, Joey's played well, but nothing about him screams top QB.

That's how I'm leaning as well. But if Culpepper shows even a hint of that pro bowl form... I dunno man. That's a tough decision not to see what the guy has left in the bag. Then again, this can prove to be another disastrous start if the answer is nothing. And even then, what becomes of DC? I doubt he'll be content to sit behind JH and I'd be shocked to get any real value for him.

starter - backup ? starter - backup ?

When the starter is healthy the starter plays. When the starter is injured, the backup plays.

Come on people......this isn't quantum physics. :rolleyes2

Bro, where have you been:D ? I've ben preaching the same thing for a while now. I like JH; like his youth, his talent, his inteligence, his class. But will he ever be anything more than another Fiedler? And even if Daunte re-emerges as a baller again, he'll be a 31 year old baller turning 32. It's time to draft a QB in the first day and have the kid sit and learn for 2,3, how many ever years it takes.

I don't know a damn thing about quantum physics but you were the man on your debate team huh? Cuz you just pulled a 180, 260, or what have you on me. We were talking continuity. Where'd the "starter - backup starter - back up" dance come from? And you didn't even employ smiley faces. Shame on you. :shakeno:

Could he be talking about not putting in Lemon this year? I didn't hear the quote or it's context, so I really have no idea.

I agree with the draft a future QB crowd. Maybe if we do so, we will be able to have him learn a few years behind quality qb's. In today's league every star qb drafted plays the first year and struggles early on. The way Phil Rivers came into being resulted in his fantastic play this year.
By the way , did yall see the bomb that Alex Smith threw last night? We have not seen that type of throw here in ...How long?

If Culpepper can return to 80% mobility, he'll win the job hands down IMO.

Heck of a pass. And the kid has some hussle to him too. Who knew? Yeah, I'd love this scenario for our franchise. We definitely need to go out and get ourselves OUR future youngster. Listen to me, I sound like a pedophile(insert Marcus Vick joke at own expense). It's imperative we draft a QB. Anyone know how long it's been since we've actaully drafted one?
